2011
Before we had canon moon, there was Progress. A fanfic all about introducing Luna to Equestrian society. A ton of people contributed and created side stories for the concept.
And Apple.MOV released today. I can't say I've ever actually made it through any of these since I like my poni to be cute, but the fandom sure does love them.
2012
Derpy was revealed at Hot Topic Today, and Fallout Equestria started going viral outside the fandom.
And on the MLP comic front, the first edition was selling insane amounts of copies for a comic, with 90000 pre-orders. I don't know what the final tally on that one was over the years, but we were at the top of comic sales charts for a long time in following issues.
Today we editorialized Owl's Well That Ends Well. Nothing else really happened!
2014
Metallic Mane dashie appeared at Hot Topic, and the first My Little Pony Manga was painfully adorable.
2015
This episode right here was a pretty massive deal, so we got Aquaman to bombard you with WORDS for the followup.
2016
Angel Wings was revealed today! And Big Jim went into detail on the creation of Friendship is Magic with its roots in girls TV.
2017
Japan was over there making adorable pony treats, while the fandom was waifu charting Tempest Shadow and celebrating Scootaloo's lesbian aunts!
2018
Kotobukiya fully revealed the Pinkie Pie figure today, with a big gallery showing her off from all angles.
