What's your opinion on male characters in My Little Pony? None of the Mane 6 in G4 were males, but with Spike, Big Mac, and later Discord, there were males involved reasonably often. In G5, We have Hitch, even though he seems to be the member of the Mane 5 that they like to make the least good use of. He has sort of been reduced to baby daddy for Sparky.
I actually really enjoyed the Spike, Big Mac, and Discord episodes in G4. They are some of my favorites by the end. Even those aside, I just like their characters in the other episodes. As for Hitch, I think as a character he has a lot of potential that has not been used. In the movie he was pretty decent, but of late not as much so.
Do you think the franchise is going to be more inclusive of males in the main cast going forward, or was Hitch just a fluke?
