It's a month later than usual but I am proud to give you all a heads up that our twelfth Newbie Artist Training Grounds will be starting on July 1st!We will have our usual month of prompts to give you all a dash of inspiration to get some lovely ponies and other MLP creatures down on paper, digital canvas and more!
For those of you who have never participated in our NATG events before it's basically an event where you can try your hooves out on creating art for the first time and improving over the course of 30 odd days.Artists who are veterans are more than welcome to join as well! Remember, you can never stop improving!
As for what sort of artwork you can submit, you're welcome to submit digital art, ponies made on lined paper, paintings, elaborate origami ponies, chalkboard ponies, animations, pixel art or even SFM ponies like we did last year.
We're pretty open on what can be accepted just as long as it matches the theme in some way shape or form.
Finally, all entries submitted for each theme day have to be a new creation of some sort. We won't be strictly policing this, but the way I see it is that if you're submitting old work you're not giving yourself a chance to improve so you're only hurting yourself.
Once NATG arrives I'll have a more detailed post on how to submit, where to view artwork, and what to expect out of the schedule. After hearing about how much we love gold and jewels here on Earth, she has taken it upon herself to bring over a mountain of it and converted it all into cash. You now have an unlimited budget for the ultimate 2 week trip with Luna! You can go anywhere, do anything, and all with top moon at your side.

A bit of minor news arrives, this time out of New Zealand of all places. I think this is the first time we've ever had an official My Little Pony event there. This one is a Make Your Mark themed tea event happening on the 16th to the 17th of July, starring a bunch of G5 pony themed foods, including chocolate ganache cupcakes with a Sunny Starscout berry theme, Zipp's lime mousse dome, and more. There will be watch parties, storytelling sessions, photo ops, and everything else you've come to eexpect from these mini marketing events the various branches of Hasbro tend to approve or throw themselves.
Cordis Auckland will be the venue, a hotel you can find here. And with a hotel comes a giveaway including a stay at a My Little Pony themed room, which you can enter by following @cordis_Auckland and @mylittlepony on Instagram and telling them what "makes you sparkle". Whatever that means.

With the comic release today, we had our first return of an old G4 character, something that was unexpected before we started getting teasers for them. It's obvious that the show will be digging into the history of old Equestria, but with the way magic seems to consistenly lock things away for thousands of years in horseland, it's not impossible that we might end up seeing other characters make a return as well.
Should this just be a neat things the comics do though? Or do you want them in the actual series too?

As I am sure at least some of you are aware, this issue contains massive backstory revelations for Generation 5 of My Little Pony.
This is not an exaggeration. What does this mean?
Well from this issue, and how the animate cartoons Make Your Mark and Tell Your Tale interface with each other, to me it looks like Hasbro is attempting to turn Generation 5 of My Little Pony into a single continunity multimedia universe like Star Wars.

As a general rule of warning here since I've already run into them on Twitter, the second G5 comic has released a little early digitally (it's set for tomorrow) and with it came some pretty huge spoilers for the G5 as a whole. Everyone already knows it involves old Canterlot from the cover, but it delves way deeper than just that.
Be safe out there if you are one of the people that try to keep everything surprising and haven't gotten a copy yet. People have been posting caps of certain parts of it.
Anyway back to poniponi. Feel free to use this comment section to discuss it and avoid spoiling it in other comments for people!

A new listing by Netflix has revealed an upcoming "Sing-Along" version of the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie. It doesn't look like it's specifically new in any way, but the songs will most likely include lyrics and the usual karaoke motion graphics if their YouTube versions of these are any indication. The description:
"A young pony makes a herd of new friends on a quest to bring magic back to her world in this sing-along version of "My Little Pony: A New Generation".

Artist: NadnerbDCelestia, like the main cast, has been with us since the very beginning of the show. In the beginning, she always had this air of a godly figure, but even in those early episodes, we did see the fun-loving aspects to her that would be fleshed out in later seasons. Over time, I feel as if she became more personable rather than just this authority figure within the land of Equestria.So what do you think?
