YouTube COPPA Policy Breaks "Choose Your Own Adventure" Equestria Girls Videos

It looks like COPPA had one more side effect today with the algorithms going live. According to their rules, videos cannot be linked at the end of videos for kids, which effectively breaks all of the "choose your own adventure" Equestria Girls shorts as they no longer have links to click at the end.

It's a minor thing since this series has long since been over, but still another casualty in the world of weird internet regulation.

Could Buckball Work as a Real World Sport?

Buckball, a sport in which ponies from all over Equestria (mostly Apploosa and Ponyville) come together to encouragingly scream at their selected 3 of 6 top athletes of different statures, race and skills, battle it out head to head to see who the superior ball bucking team truly is.
Buckball along with acrobatic flying quickly became one of the shows staple games, showing up a whopping 3 times throughout the series, some liking the concept, others not so much, and others so much that they actually played a version of it at conventions like Nightmare Nights Dallas.

So, done right? Someone’s played it, so it must in fact be playable in real life! Read all about it below!

YouTube COPPA Policy Now Live - Lots of Pony Videos Flagged. Gorefest "Cupcakes HD" Now "For Kids"

As of today, Youtube's algorithms that automatically cause videos to comply with COPPA are now in full effect. This means loads of pony videos that are definitely not "for kids" have been nailed with the automated gutting of their comments, playlist integration, and other features.

Unfortunately, it's ridiculously bad at actually targeting videos that are "for kids". Pony in particular is suffering harder from this due to everything being cartoony and related to a usually "for kids" brand.

Luckily, it's easy to fix. A content creator needs to simply go into their video settings, find the offending videos, and change their settings to "not for kids". For the people out there that haven't posted things in forever though, it's going to be an interesting time as videos about clop, gore, and other very much adult oriented material in the pony sphere are now 100% marketed toward kids. What a world.

One good thing is that it doesn't seem to be targeting brony music a ton. I've had a few musicians point out that their videos are still flagged appropriately.

TOY REVIEW: MLP Potion Surprise Batch 1 Blind Bags

It's a new fiscal year and that means its time for new toys to hit the shelves!

Which means we have new MLP toys to take a look at! And in the case of this Equestria Daily staffer, to review!

So you can probably expect a couple of these to come out over the next few weeks.I have some fun stuff ordered on Amazon I cannot wait to break into once it arrives!

Speaking of fun, I got in 24 of the My Little Pony Potion Surprise Blind Bag toys today!

Which I bought with my own money for anyone wondering.
