Earlier today, we popped a Tweet up from Friendship is Magic writer Mike Vogel talking about LGBT ponies and the future of the show. He noted that there was a season and a half left of our current pony run. It looks like this might not be entirely accurate though from a completely confirmed front. His new tweet points out that since he is no longer working directly for Hasbro, he has no idea if that actually is the end. A season and a half is all that he is able to confirm so far. It also follows what we had leak last year.
He also dropped a general message for the pony masses:
"Although I WILL add that if Hasbro DOES do more MLP:FiM and I get to continue writing on it I STILL think the fandom's time is better spent focusing on the characters you love and not the one or two that may not be faves."

Ponysphere and Secret Metal have been getting up to some more mischief as tends to have when they hit the cider a bit hard, and the result is an upbeat metal tune about some fun times on the apple farm. The track itself is great fun with some killer guitar and piano solos, and a nice blend of classic rock, country and metal feels to it. Check it out below!

Quite some time back information surfaced that seemed to indicate that season 9 would be that last season for pony. But considering how that information was obtained and how circumstances can change in the world of TV horses it hasn't been 100% confirmed.
Recently, during a conversation thread where Mike Vogel was debating someone about Starlight Glimmer he interestingly mentioned that with a year and a half to go it seemed a waste of energy to go after one of 25 to 35 characters.
This would seem to line up with the current understanding pony would end with season 9. Of course things can still change, the staff in the beginning thought season 3 would be their last but ended up with six more seasons on top of it. Still, it looks like we have more evidence the end is slow creeping up on us.

The next edition of the My Little Pony Magazine has released, with Celestia as the molded figurine in this one. It's still pretty strange that one of the few places to get unique molded pony poses is the magazine line, but this is definitely one we have never seen for Celestia.
