Bonus Music #1 - Revamping Music of the Day for Better Stuff!

If you missed the update a few days ago or wondered why music posts have been single and completely different lately, it's because we are revamping the entire music system. New reviewers, new quality requirements, and a brand new music writer! With that, comes a change to the old "Music of the Day".

Technically, Music of the Day was originally just a test. We wanted to see how well a post would do if we basically removed the majority of quality requirements. You weren't going to find things that sounded like they were recorded at the bottom of the ocean on a microphone from the 1900's, but it did drop the quality bar far further than anything else on the site. It was going to be temporary, but grew it's own little culture that we didn't want to remove, so we stuck with it. It also had some stuff that was pretty much spotlight in it but were rejected for different reasons (Primarily how "pony" it was), which confused people.

Fast forward to today, and we are going to change the level of quality that can enter this style of post and change it to "Bonus Music". It's going to be a lot higher quality than Music of the Day was, but still open to newer people that have had a few songs and practice under their belts. Some of the sillier things that would appear there will probably pop up in roundups.

Spotlights with single songs are still going to be the best of the best from music review here, but this is a good "bonus" for anyone looking for more music to play with!

Newbie Artist Training Grounds VI: Day 26

I asked you guys for the unexpected and this indeed is pretty unexpected! I hope Maud is a good provider and will take care of all those adorable little pebbles Boulder will have.

Evening guys and welcome to day 26! Our days together are drawing ever shorter and I'm sure you're exhausted, but we're almost there! You guys have been pretty consistent with submissions so far so I'm hoping we can keep above 100 submissions a day (after I add in later submissions when I wake up) as we tackle the last few prompts of this ATG! Today you guys brought in a lovely batch of 106 ponies bringing the total up to 5037 ponies, breaking the 5000 pony barrier! Woot!

Now I'm sure you'll want to get right down to brass tacks so today's prompt involves drawing a pony in command/drawing a pony filled with confidence. With all the ponies you guys have been drawing I'm hoping you've been taking command of your new found skills so let's show some ponies taking charge! As usual, find our submitter for today here.

Music: Reverbrony - Blood and Fury [Metal]

Reverbrony has been delivering some of the heaviest rock and metal instrumentals in the fandom for a while now, and this release of his is no different. Whilst a lot of his music tends to be quite long, at 6 minutes this is one of the shorter ones. With heavy guitar tones, pounding drums and a really nice sounding lead, when it's present, this instrumental is definitely pretty cool.

'Legend of Everfree' Book Reveals What Look Like Pics From Movie

People are starting to receive their Legend of Everfree books since it released on September 6th and apparently there were quite a few pictures in the book itself that look like pictures from the movie that we haven't seen before.

If you don't want to spoil yourself I recommend not checking after the break but I will tell you that the movie is looking pretty cool!

Why 'The Fault in Our Cutie Marks' Aired So Late

Now that the episode has aired, Jim has revealed why 'The Fault in Our Cutie Marks' aired out of the original order. According to Jim it was so there would be some CMC episodes in the second half of the season.

Also, in regards to the episode airing outside the country before the US, it wasn't their fault and, in my opinion, it was probably just other stations around the world following the original release schedule we had in the US since other countries are typically behind us. Plus DHX doesn't really have any control on when the episodes air, it's up to the stations after all.

So there you have it! The skinny on the mysterious episode.

Music: GhostXb - Wild Guess [Epic Orchestral]

Initially released as boss-battle music for the pony vs. wolf fight in the Ambient Prologue beta, GhostXb brings us an epic-sounding orchestral track full of powerful choir sounds, pulsing strings, and some well-purposed percussion to keep the energy level high throughout the track. It's not a particularly long track, but it's definitely a good one.

Pony Models are Gettin' Curvy - Brand New Molds for Brushable Ponies Appearing on Taobao

The chinese marketplace site Taobao that has been pumping out leaked pony merchandise since the dawn of the fandom has a bunch of completely new brushable figures listed. These guys have completely different models than regular brushables, with pointier noses and curvier bodies. Celestia especially looks really good.

The theory many in the email box came up with us movie based, and considering we are probably getting new actual animated pony models for the movie, it wouldn't be too surprising.

Guardians of Harmony Gets an Official Flash Game

Hasbro has released an official flash game for Guardians of Harmony over on the My Little pony website. Expect changelings being smushed like bugs, epic orchestral scores, and BATTLE.
