For everyone following the Drawponies story, we now have a response from the man himself. In his newly published journal entry, he goes into detail on the act of tracing things, and in some cases listing these long side his original art at conventions for sale. He also talks about his moderation team for those worrying about the comment deletions.
For the future, he plans on no longer tracing anything, and simply relying on his personal skills. Anything at all that was traced will no longer be used. The tracing was simply a way to make things go faster apparently, which is probably why we don't see a whole lot of 1-1 comparisons.

Now I thought this guy's balloon Party Favor was amazing, but this really takes the cake! That's a lot of detail to recreate with balloons and I think Party Favor would even be impressed.

We've got a new pony convention on the horizon everyone! With EQLA in, well, LA, BABSCon in San Fran and now Pacific PonyCon in San Diego we now have the whole State of California covered. Not only that, they are happy to announce the attendance of Andrea Libman as their first guest!

Hasbro has released their quarterly report for the first part of 2015, and things are looking good on the pony side. While you can dig into all sorts of specific numbers over here, we are going to focus on the pony!
Combined with Transformers, Hasbro saw a massive 74% increase in the Entertainment and Licensing segment, going from 34.9 million in 2014, to 60.6 million compared to Quarter one of last year. A good amount of this is due to streaming deals for the shows. As we move more and more toward the cloud based technological future, I wouldn't be surprised if this kept on expanding.

This issue has really blown up over the past 24 hours or so! For those of you just hearing about this, Drawponies' fans recently began supplying evidence that at least some of his pieces are created using traced assets from the show.
Since the initial few images appeared, loads of evidence has been arriving in the submit box and around the internet showing his art matching up perfectly with show assets. To go along with this, screencaps of his live streams reveal him physically tracing things that are later sold.

With the con only a few months away, the Equestria Daily team is doing a lot of scheduling to get eight people on the team over to Germany this summer. Over in Germany the GalaCon team is also hard at work to prepare for the event. Currently GalaCon is looking for contributors to the con's art gallery.
