My name is Sunburst, and I've received orders to a posting as a royal guard. My duty as a member of the guard is to protect the princess. Traditionally, that's taken to mean against physical threats. Less traditionally, I'm coming to a realization that it may mean assisting in other ways - maybe even in ways she's not aware that she needs.
Normally I would say it's not our place to intervene in personal matters, but when you see as plain as the hoof in front of your face that something is wrong, sometimes it finally brings you to the point at which standing by and doing nothing is simply no longer an option.
I may have to make a hard decision. I don't know if this is right or wrong. All I know is that watching my princess suffer is impossible to bear when I'm supposed to be protecting her.

With PonyCon just about a week away an interesting piece of news has landed in our laps! Apparently ABC's Nightline is doing a piece on the Pony Phenomenon and as part of that piece they are interested in attendees sharing some of their experiences with them before the event.
If you're going to PonyCon and are interested in telling them a bit of your story this is where you can contact them and a little of what they are looking for!

Here is something new that we haven't seen much of at all in the fandom over the years. A team of film makers called V2rocketproductions is planning a Daring Do X Indiana Jones crossover film, complete with actual running tanks, explosives, cannons, and more! EXPLOSIVE!
The film is set to premier at BABScon according to their press release. I for one welcome this idea!

Spike has had it rough throughout the run of FiM, but few can deny the show would be very different without him! So for his hard work and dedication to his friends despite being the underdog in most cases (fandom and show alike) we'll be celebrating Spike Appreciation Day here on EqD on February 19, the Chinese New Year!
That gives you guys two weeks to send in artwork, plushies, stories, ect both new and old to help fill the day with plenty of Spike themed love for the little guy. Send your pieces to [email protected] with at least Spike Day in the subject line and we'll file it away for the big event.
If we can have love for all these ponies, surely there is some love in our hearts for our scaly little friend. Make me proud friends!
Update: Guess Spike Appreciation Day abbreviates to SAD so we're going with something a bit more cheery! Also yes, it isn't the Year of the Dragon, the Chinese New Year seemed appropriate considering the Chinese Dragon.

Just a little more than a week away my pony friends! Are you all excited? If you are still on the fence about buying a ticket here are some more awesome reasons to go. Starbound sort of went on hiatus with the patches for a ridiculous amount of time. An update for the game finally released a few days ago, and in true pony fashion, the Friendship is Magic mod to add cartoon horses to the game was quickly upgraded to the new version of the game.
