With a year of ridiculously successful comics behind him, Andy Price has given the denizens of his Deviant Art page his thoughts on Alicorn Twilight and the fandom drama surrounding it. We just came down from an epic start to season two, with Discord, Lesson Zero, and glorious CANTERLOCK Luna. The fan art from Luna Eclipse was causing Drawfriend posts to overload, with costumed ponies and moonbutt being pumped out at unprecedented rates. Things were good!
Off in the distance via a week early episode synopsis was something people were a bit wary on. Would the CMC in season 2 finally escape the black hole of cutiemarkscutiemarkscutiemarks that drove many of us bonkers? We were about to find out!
When Sisterhooves Social finally dropped on November 5th, a lot of people were pleasantly surprised. The banter between Rarity and Sweetie Belle was excellent, with both ponies gaining a whole boatload of new canon to play with. If future crusader episodes were going to follow this trend, things were looking up for the trio.
On top of that, wet manes were suddenly a thing, and Friendship is Witchcraft skyrocketed in popularity with Sweetie Bot at the forefront. I'm still leaning toward that one for best parody yet.

Alicorn all the ponies? A deadly premonition of the future? Only time will tell! That Fluttershy toy from China totally has a horn though. She's also pretty huge, clocking in at 22 centimeters tall. I wouldn't be surprised if this was a new unrelated toyline, though it could just be a prototype.

Bobby Curnow of the IDW forums has revealed a few more neat little tidbits of information in regards to the Friends Forever series that is replacing the micro comic. It's sounding like small groups of characters will be the focus here, with favorites like Zecora, Trixie, and Discord hopping in to provide supporting roles.
Have the exact quote:
Friends Forever will be the same format as the Micro-series. Rotating creative team, done-in-one stories. You'll see some new Pony creators, like Alex and Carla, but also many returning people/creative teams.
Stories have been greenlit featuring all of the Mane 6, Luna, Celestia, Spike, and the Crusaders. And MORE! Expect to see important secondary characters like Zecora, Trixie, Discord and more! (because i'll get the question: no stories planned for what would be considered 'background ponies'. I remain skeptical of them holding an entire story, but hey— doesn't mean we CAN"T do it, if the right story comes)
Some stories will feature two of the mane 6, like #1, others will see one mane 6 with one supporting character, and others still will be JUST supporting characters. So there's pretty much endless potential. I'm excited, it will be a lot fun with lots of storytelling potential.
Expect the madness to begin next year!

More variants for the masses. Comic #12 will be getting some Vinyl Scratch and Octavia love. Octavia will be available at Jetpack, while Larrys will grab Vinyl. Only Octavia is up at the time of this post, but you can keep an eye on their pony section to catch the other when it appears in it's finalized form.
