The orchestrator for all those crazy pony songs you guys remix the hell out of has expressed interest in a pony! Clearly this means you artists out there need to design one for him! Get to it!

So, who's up for "Silver Baton?" He's an orange maned unicorn with a darkish gray coat. He is bespectacled, and his cutie mark is, obviously, a baton with a ton of sparkles. In fact, he doesn't go anywhere without it! He even uses it to fight when the situation arises!
ReplyDeleteAlright, so he was born in Canterlot, and didn't discover his talent until late in his foalhood. He became fast friends with Octavia, and quite nearly began dating her. However, his love for music overcame his contemporary interests and soon -- Ooh! I need to write a fanfiction about this...

I once asked one of the senior storyboard artists, Sabrina Alberghetti, AKA Sibsy on DeviantART if she had any suggestions on how I could improve the proportions of a particular pony sketch I was working on. By the time I was able to check back she had already gone over the sketch herself and fixed what needed to be fixed (which was a lot at the time) and was ready to e-mail it to me when I was able to PM her my address. Needless to say I was completely shocked and immediately my respect for Sabrina, the show's team, and FiM in general soared and has been soaring since.

ReplyDeleteI imagine it as an adaptation of the "flood of babies" nightmare.
ReplyDeleteOne pony will pop up and Steffan will go "Aww, it's so sweet!" Two more will suddenly appear behind him and he will say "I can't choose!" Then the ponies will keep on showing up all over his house, all demanding "pick me!" He will keep pushing them out of the way, but more keep popping up.
Then, a slow rumble will shake the earth and a pile of ponies will start building up against the windows and doors. He will bolt through the small crowd of ponies to hold back the front door. It will hold for about four seconds, then with a resounding "NOOOOOOO!!!" Steffan will disappear beneath a wave of ponies that will break down the door, all of them crying out to be chosen to represent him.
But then, that's just how it will work in my mind.

ReplyDeleteWell it was as part of a vector I was going to make for someone else, and she was fine with me uploading the finished product to DA. I've also asked if I could vector some of her sketches from time to time, and she's always been okay with that too. Of course whenever I've uploaded anything based off one of her sketches, I always make sure to credit, link back to her deviation/profile page, and advised others to +favorite/watch her and her awesome art. She really is a great person.

ReplyDeleteI am gonna guesstimate about .....100+ inital sketches, approximately 40 vectors or color images, maybe about 10 or so full wallpaper sized 'concept ponies made for lulz'. Nothing drawfriends love more than a pony challenge.
Haha can't wait to see all the pegasus ponies in conductor garb with piano based cutie marks. Oh also, made a FB acc just for this (finally) and first post on EQD for a long time lurker!
