Sometimes a fanfic comes along that changes the way we think about the world we live in. Other times, they just inspire artists to draw comics about them. This is one of those. It seems that one Conner Cogwork enjoyed the script series Life With Derpy so much that he converted "episode" 1 into a more visual format. There's a rough quality to the work that I find very charming. It's an impressive undertaking, to be sure, and I hope that there are plans in the works to handles parts 2 and 3 as well! But of course, you're not here to listen to me ramble, so let's get on with the show!

ReplyDeleteAhaha, that comic was adorable. And it was hilarious every time Ditzy tried to think of something, the pause and zoom-in as her eyes derp up from strain of thought cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteVery nice comic, hopefully he does the other parts too, it would be a crime to deprive us of this charming series.
I believe the word that most accurately describes this is "heartwarming". While the roughness IS charming, I've found color to breathe life into things (like the difference between Link's Awakening GB and DX). In closing, it is 'aaawww'esome.

ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read "Life with Derpy" I knew that it was only a matter of time before someone made it into a comic. I can't say that I'm disappointed with the results. A really cute comic. Now all I have to wait for is the Radio Play version.

I'm also happy that everypony else is enjoying the comic too! I was surprised to find it on Ponibooru, but I suppose I shouldn't be. Again, when it comes to the other episodes, only time will tell!
That really was a delightful comic! It has been a while since I've read or seen a ditzy doo comic or fanfiction, and that is kind of what got me started on this craze anyways.

ReplyDelete@Namefag Anon Ditzy Doo is the name given to a pony who flew the wrong direction during the Winter Wrap Up. Everyone assumed that this was referring to Derpy and Lauren Faust afterwards that they were the same pony and said that "She can be called Derpy if everyone likes it" (I can't find the link to the message but its somewhere around)
ReplyDeleteYay, I love it. I've not read the fanfic that inspired it, but the comics there are really adorable. I prefer to call her Derpy now myself. Only because I like the name more. But hey, if some still want to call her Ditzy, then I say go for it. No matter the name she's still our very lovable little ditz. :)
