Both Friendship is Magic and G5 take a lot of inspiration from real life music for their jingles. We saw it with Sprout's song in the "A New Generation", and of Daniel Ingram regularly cited famous songs and musical styles for his work. We've hit just about every genre out there at this point.
If you had an unlimited budget, what real world song would you like to see get the pony treatment? Who would be your lead singer and how would it play out when animated?

Amazon has listed up one of the Mini World sets revealed a few months ago. Originally these were supposed to drop in August, but Amazon has this one set with a July 16 starting date, though it ranges into August.

It's amazing how many of these we still see now days considering how time consuming they are to make. Hopefully we still have these long into the future cause I need a kirin!
