As a little kid there was always something magical about the first day of school. Being a teacher it was a bit different, terrifying even. It has been one heck of a year and I had thought I'd made it and was ready for next year but unfortunately, I will not be teaching next year as the school decided to not renew my contract.

It was a big blow to me and I am sad to leave my job teaching, but I have other avenues I can explore. I could teach elsewhere but after the pain of designing my own curriculum for three classes for a whole year now essentially in vain, the prospect of having to do that again doesn't have me excited.

Hopefully something better is around the corner. In the meantime, I do have a Ko-Fi to help while I am jobless, so check it out if you'd like to help.

Our second Open Music compilation is now! As a reminder if you missed the previous announcement about these posts, we are currently transitioning to a new system, so in the meantime these will be where we post most of the instrumental tracks, with a bonus of letting anyone at all of any skill level in for a big grab bag! You might find something you love.

And another reminder, you now need to submit your music. I know our previous system had people on a list and told people not to submit, but that list is now gone, so if you want to be included, be sure to send your tracks in.

Friendship is Magic really was something special wasn't it? Hopefully G5 can live up to that insanely high bar it set! Watchmojo has once again summoned cartoon horses for one of it's top lists, and this time the Mane 6 take the 2nd slot for best cartoon reboots. It's hard to imagine it was over a decade ago now that it happened. I can't believe I've been here reporting on it for this long.
