After the Canterlot Wedding between Shining Armour and Cadence, Princess Celestia invites Twilight along on a diplomatic mission to befriend the distant country of Diomedes. Her intention is to start teaching Twilight some of the skills she will needs when she ascends to become an alicorn. What they find on the trip, however, is far from the safe, teachable moment Celestia hoped for.
