After announcing that Netflix in Canada would be receiving season 8 on the 12th, we still didn't have confirmation on it's USA date. Fortunately, the pony page over there has officially updated with the teaser note up above. We are joining Canada it looks like.
Maybe we can host some rewatches or something leading to the 9th season now that everything is so easily accessible. That was one of the suggestions repeated multiple times in the post at least.
