Poor Marble Pie. All she sees now is images of Big Mac in everything she does. Yet she doesn't have the courage to send him a letter. She's slowly working herself up to it, but every time, a new excuse appears. The pen sprung a leak, or the mailpony won't be around for another week anyway, or it's cold and she can't hold a pencil in her teeth without it chattering. Poor Marble.

EQD Improvement Discussion Round #2 - New Posts, New Sections, Help Us Improve!

To bring in the 2016 year, we posted up a suggestion gathering post back in December asking you all for feedback on what we here at EQD can do to improve everything for everyone! Unfortunately, Intense Debate decided to completely wipe the comments out, which prompted us to switch to Disqus.

We lost about 3 good days of feedback from that database derp on their end, and unlike the rest of the Intense Debate comments that are currently archived below the new Disqus comments (and migrating to Disqus soon), we don't have any history on them.

Luckily, we have a reason to create a round 2 of that post anyway, and the only ones that can help are you!

Below the break, we go over each major category here on the site, what we have changed in the last few weeks, and how you can improve us overall. Now go!

More Feedback Collection - And PMV - The Queen / Winter Spirit

It's PMV time, but also time to gather a bit of feedback off of all of you on how these should be handled in the future!

There seem to be a few different types of PMVS popping up these days:

• Simple ones with less effects
• Simple ones with less effects, but really good synching of scenes to the music (The first one in this post)
• Heavy effect usage 
• Shape and Vector Motion graphic PMV (The 2nd one in this post)
• Typography
• BLINDING effect usage (I've heard some people call these "teenager PMV's", but I think that's just because some of the big ones making them are teenagers) 
• Animated Vector PMV

Which ones do you like most? We will probably convert this into a poll once we get a better set going.

Discussion: What is Your Real Theory Behind Alicorns in Equestria?

At the very beginning, there were only two. A series of strange events changed everything though, when Hasbro suddenly discovered that selling different sizes and colors of Celestia didn't equate to more sales! They needed a new princess... and another... and probably another! That's what little girls want, right?

Fortunately, DHX made it work, but not without some flexibility in the overall world of Equestria. We know Cadance started off as a pegasus, and Twilight ascended via ridiculous magic power level and friendship, but what about the other two? What created Celestia and Luna?

So far,  we really don't have any kind of good history on them. We know they are ancient, at least 1000 years, probably more. Have they been there since the beginning, raising the sun and moon? Did they create the night sky and world? Or did something else happen entirely?

These questions may never be answered, but that is what fanon is for! What do you think is the starting point of the two sisters? We know they at least had a childhood in their castle in the Everfree Forest.

Pony History of the Day: The Hub

When one thinks of ponies there are few things as closely tied to FiM as The Hub, the network that came out of nowhere that we had little expectations for when ads for it popped up on other major networks. It looked like another cash grab by a major toy company and most of us left it at that until it premiered on October 10, 2010 and a magical little show about pastel ponies came into our lives.

After that magical day The Hub became more than just another network and became the home base for a brand new phenomenon: Bronies. It wasn't until after the first season ended that the Hub began embracing the newfound Brony community, creating a huge shoutout to the fandom with the original Equestria Girls promo back in early 2011 and sending an extended edition straight to EqD.

The staff over at The Hub created a number of promos for FiM over the years and were happy to talk with the community and us here at EqD. So when it was announced that the Hub would be no more and would be changed to Discovery Family we were all a bit sad to see the network that started ponies disappear.

For those of you who are new to ponies within the past year or miss the cool things the Hub used to do, check on after the break for a bunch of Hub promos! We've embedded a lot of really great examples of the Hub's greatness, but make sure to check the end of the post for a full playlist!
