Hey, look at that. It's concept art. For a character in one of those videomagames that are so popular with the kids these days. I guess I should post something about it, huh?
So, below the break you're going to see a pretty neat tech demo showing off everything this group has assembled thus far. You'll see Twilight arguing with a Parasprite, you'll see physics and magic and all sorts of other things. You'll see the word "Metroidvania" invoked, which I think bodes well for all of us who have plumbed the depths of either half of that particular portmanteau. And, you'll also see some calls to help. They need sprite artists, they need musicians, and... you know what? How about I just duck under this page break and let them say it themselves?

When Luna popped up in the finale I got to admit a huge smile crossed my face! She could have possibly done a little more in the episodes, but it certainly was nice to see her. Hopefully this means we get some more of her in season 3!

Well, that's it. Season two is over.
And what a ride it's been.
Season one set the bar high, and I don't think I was the only one just a little bit nervous about the concept of a second one. During that summer drought of no new episodes, many assumed that the fandom would decrease in size and perhaps die out all together. Against everyone's expectations, the pony train kept going forward at full steam, and accelerated beyond what anyone would have imagined. When the second season hit the airwaves, our unorthodox audience was more numerous and more enthusiastic than when the first season had ended.
We've had a lot of highs and a lot of lows during the airing of these twenty-six episodes, and I'd like to think that we ended on a high note yesterday. Perhaps not the perfect high note, but it's definitely up a few octaves.
I've heard through the grapevine that some members of DHX Media read these followups. I'm not going to spoil your report card before the break- but you guys got an A in my book. Bravo.
Take one last ride with me, ponies, as I do my best to wrap up the season finale of season two of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

A long night of guarding that tower from Twilight Sparkle not staying indoors must have been tiring for the poor girl!
It's too bad no one thought to wake her up though. Luna's non-Nightmare Moon magic would have been an interesting thing to see for once!

I was going to do a villian poll, but with this kind of hype I'm pretty sure it's obvious who would win. I'll do one later on when it does down a bit!
Chrysalis is a badass villian. I couldn't have asked for better. Glowy green? Check. Evil firey magic? Check. Takes out the ruler of a country with a single spell? Yeah, I'm pretty sure she is bestponychangling. It's too bad she got defeated so quickly!
Apparently all you artists agree. Have 60 drawings dedicated to her!

Jayon Thiessen has tossed the voice actors for both Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadence up for all of you people bombarding him with questions about it.
Looks like Trixie's Kathleen Barr did Queen Chrysalis, and Britt Mckillip from all sorts of neat stuff did Cadence. The best villian

You also may have seen Sibsy's pony, "Wildfire" arguing with a colt at one point.

Daniel Ingram is one sneaky musician! This was going to be in the episode followup, but I figured I'd split it off since so many of you are sending it.
Apparently a neat little inside joke was placed into the Cadance song. Kwulhu over on Reddit did what bronies do best: analyze the hell out of something. What he found was actually really neat! Have his quote:
There was actually a double meaning in the song. The song is in the key of Db Major (just like winter wrap up!) . That means that the root chord is a Db major chord. Usually, a Ab major chord will lead into a Db major. This is the V-I chord progression and it is also known as the Authentic Cadence (stick with me here). Now, it seems to resolve to a sadder chord at the end of the phrase. Instead of ending on Db major around 1:16, it lands on Bb minor: the relative minor of Db major. Now, when a chord progression seems to be heading to the root chord but lands on the relative minor instead, that is called a...

Also worth noting, listen to how Twilight sings the last "forever" in the song. Her little cadenza (I am seriously not making these words up) quotes the opening notes of the theme song
