  • Wave Three Blindbag Update

    by Sethisto
    Source: Scraleos
For all you lucky people over in the UK, the third wave of Blindbag toys is slowly creeping into the market.  One store specifically apparently has a few.  If you live near a place called ASDA Superstore, go grab some pony!  And send me a Lyra/Trixie while you are at it!

I know that feel bro. My GF got me a Twilight Sparkle, exact same style as the Blind bags, but sold differently. I asked where, and she just said "At Tescos". I WTF'd all over the floor, and then I went online, but couldn't see them :C

It's squashed the entire comment box, not just the Blogger logos. Giving up is for Rainbow Dash, Trixie would never give up, harumph.

Also ASDA is a chain of stores, they are just like (in fact a subsidiary of) Walmart across the pond. So it's quite possible only some ASDAs have got them.

Dunno about wave 3, but in Denmark you can buy wave 2 in BR and Toys'r'us, so they'll probably be in Sweden as well? (I'm kinda hoping they bring in wave 1 & 3 at some point)

I got trolled by the UK blindbags last night with my girlfriend. We found the blindbags in ASDA and immediately booted up the ID list, grabbed the ones we wanted and vamoosed, only to find out that the Rainbow Dash and Rarity we wanted were in fact a Glow-in-the-Dark Pinkie-Pie and Rainbowshine... Rainbowshine is now in the process of being turned into Derpy by me! Muahahahahaha!!! http://www.reddit.com/r/mylittlepony/comments/ov54z/we_can_repaint_her/

@Beno113 I have seen those at quite a few Tescos, they just have to be Tesco Extras, none of the smaller stores stock them. You generally find them hanging on the clip strips in the girls toys aisles, no Fluttershy in those sets though.

So far I've only seen the blind bags in Asda Living stores (the non-supermarket ones that don't sell food). The one in Wrexham had a fresh box out today so I managed to grab Carrot Top and Fluttershy (handy that the bags are in numerical order in the box). The Asda supermarket here didn't have any but it's never been very good for toys.

@Matoro The back of the bags have pictures of all the figures in the wave. Easiest way to tell if it's Wave 3 is if you see the male ponies on the back (Big Mac etc.)

I think the bags are different colours as well. Wave 3 are purple.

But... if ANYPONY in the US has found and bought Wave 1 bling bag ponies at Walmart, can you PLEASE look at your receipt and read the SKU number and share it with us all. It'd be nice to be able to call far away stores in advance and do a stock check before driving a long way to visit them.

Am I right in thinking that these are the first proper blind bag figures to come to the UK? I know we had that tube containing 4 of the main cast, and then they did blister packs of all of the main cast bar Fluttershy, but otherwise I have never seen nor heard of the existence of wave 1 or 2 over here. Which is a shame, because I really want a sparkly Rainbow Dash. :(

After a quick visit to the St.Helens ASDA with some chums, there were no MLP blind bags :c I'll check Morrisons and ASDA again at the weekend I think though.

Same, and it's kind of starting to freak me out. Online sounds like the UK is flooded with Pony merch, but i've not seen a single piece here apart from weirdo purple celestia, toys r us, tesco, asda, etc.

I've seen no sign that MLP:FiM exists in the UK. However, it turns out that there's an unsuspected ASDA not ten minutes walk from where I live so I feel a late-night visit coming on.

I did a total double-take at the mention of Southampton. Convinced it couldn't be true I ventured into town, and returned with glow-in-the-dark Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. :O

It's the only thing I've seen that isn't purple celestia or those weird mermaid things though. The enormous Toys R Us near me has nothing at all.

Hopefully the Asda will restock sharpish though. I will not be denied Rarity.

For anyone still after these, I found something interesting today. They had them in the shop called 'ASDA Living' which, as you can guess, is mostly a shop full of household items and clothes, but the one I went to (In Teesside Park) had a games and toys area upstairs. I found one box of blindbag ponies - with one bag of each pony, I checked all the numbers before buying. They were even in order, clearly they had just been put there and no one had touched them yet as they went down from 24 to 1 each time I picked a new one up. I thought that was kinda odd, that they had one of each pony. Made it easier for me however, since now my collection's complete!
