I actually had all of these filed into the Episode followup post, but I decided to split them off and post them up separately! A bunch of people decided to try cooking Chimicherrychongas up themselves, and surprisingly enough, it worked like a charm. Check more out after the break!

Cherry Chimichangas, didn't sound bad at all when it was first mentioned in the show. I don't know why everyone is so excited.

ReplyDeleteSometimes McDonald's has these fried cherry pies. Taste-wise, they're probably similar to what's in these photographs (although I imagine the homemade ones would taste better).

ReplyDeleteI often wonder, though, if the writers of the show put these original ideas ON PURPOSE just, and only just, so they see whether or not the fans actually TRY them in real life.
"Hey, let's make Applejack cook the nastiest cupcake ever. You think the fans will try that? Holy shoot, they did! Uhm..."
"Hey, let's add an old, raggy doll for Twilight. Done? Okay, let's bet on how long it takes the fans to make one."
"Hey, let's add a mix between chimichanga and cherries. Done? Great, now let's see if they try it as well! I'm not attempting eating one of those until our ginea pi--OUR DEVOTED FANS try them, I mean."
Of course, it doesn't always work...
"Hey, let's have Pinkie Pie operate a PARTY CANNON, like, it's a cannon that fires parties! Done? Okay, let's see how they work THIS one up! *time passes* Huh. Nothing yet? I guess we pushed too far..."

Man that was fast! Bronies really don't fool around when it comes to this show. I mean did they JUST get done watching the episode and immediately set out to make Chimicherrychongas? I'm not complaining, that is awesome. I'm just surprised how fast they move. I want one, I think I'm going to try it out too.

Good luck with figuring out what kind of cherries to use, whether or not you'd use powdered sugar after frying and how long you have to fry em' for.
These do look quite delicious, and are making me quite hungry. Better go eat ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm not a HUGE Derpy fan (I like her well enough) but even I gave a little squeal when I heard Dash call her Derpy and when she actually started speaking. Sounds to me that her second cute quirk is the fact she has a lisp.
This is a wonderful image to wake up to. I have a feeling I'm going to be attempting to make some of these in the near future.

ReplyDelete#4 here! @Arcticwlf and @MikeWe, we used crepes instead of tortilla, and it deep fried just fine. We maybe overloaded the crepe with cherrygoo, but otherwise it was so delish. The crepe didn't burn in the oil either - just got nice and crisp and flakey.

A quick Google search seems to suggest the idea already existed before Pinkie Pie came up with it! Clearly someone created a time machine, went forward in time and stole the idea off PP. That is the only theory I'm happy with!

You do know you can hover over most links to see where they go before clicking on them right? Also, each time EQD has linked there that I have seen, have had no issues at all with the content. Just a general rule of thumb with the internet, don't go looking for trouble on sites you are not comfortable with.
