Spike doesn't get nearly enough love! Apparently out favorite little dragon's voice actress, Cathy Weseluck, will be appearing on the Dennis Daniel show on the 3rd of February. Clearly she needs to be tossed a ton of support, so hit the website up when it airs! I'll toss a reminder out on the day of.

ReplyDeleteAWWW YEAH! .. she's also Shampoo.... that's awesome Ranma 1/2 is my Favorite anime, i own the Entire Series on DVD (Seasons 1-7, ova set, and both movies) as well as a few PVC Figures of Ranma both Guy and Girl types and of Akane, as far as i know they never made any more.

ReplyDeleteI remember Cathy was also doing the voices of Chiaotzu and Puar from "Dragonball Z", as well as Dorothy Catalonia from a show called "Mobile Suit: Gundam Wing"
I'll be doing my best to be there, of course. I love interviews with the folks who work on the show!

I absolutely love how many FiM VAs also did Gundam characters.
Bart Simpson has a voice actress also. I'm pretty sure that's kind of the norm for immature male voices.

Besides Cathy doing Spike's voice, one mentioned Nancy Cartwright doing Bart Simpson's voice, Tara Strong as Timmy Turner in Family OddParents, she also did Omi in Xiaolin Showdown, Christine Cavenaugh as Chuckie Finster from Rugrats, and more.

Spike is AWESOME. He's a faithful friend of ponies, a diligent recorder of lessons learned, and his crush on Rarity is adorable (and of course completely understandable). :) He has the same voice as the character Dennis from the cartoon Kid vs Kat - but the voice fits Spike better IMO. He adds so much to the show. I hope we get another Spike-centered episode this season; the last one, "The Secret of My Excess", is one of my favorites.

ReplyDeleteHe's one of mine, too, but I don't need to tell anyone that (as you can see by my avatar). :) I agree that he does add a lot to the show. "Secret of My Excess" is my personal favorite, as well. I'm sure we'll get another Spike-centered episode this season (otherwise, it'll be the next one). There's still so much unlocked potential in him.
