ReplyDeleteNot bad. The details were pretty good, description and all that. But it felt more like a vignette than a story for most of it - nothing wrong with that, but it's a thing. Also, there was a lot of time devoted to Rainbow Dash thinking about the past, and not a ton devoted to what was actually happening. It felt more like a lot of exposition, and while the ending was nice, there just wasn't a lot that happened.

ReplyDeleteAlright, it was short and adorable, but the time spent on exposition and backstory, no matter how cute the reveal... ugh, I hate to do it, but I'm afraid if the words for the stars are what I must go by, it's a 3: I liked it! Cute and short and fun!

Yes, there's quite a bit of exposition in this chapter. First rule of fanfiction, if you're going to change the setting from canon, the reader needs to have a clear idea of how things got to where they are.
Don't worry, there's action, silliness, and almost criminal levels of cute still to come.

Aside from a few notable typing errors, and the exposition that is typical in first chapters; that was pretty damn sweet.

ReplyDeleteThis sory definitely comes highly recommended. It's cute, well-written and already has Dash and Pinkie in a relationship from the beginning, which is rather refreshing after reading so many fics in which they get together.
