ReplyDeleteNunber one- man I love strings........this is no exception. It kinda overlaps a bit, especially at 1:16. 1:32 WTF IS THAT ANNOTATION CALLED?!?! I give thumbs up out of the pure humor of it, lol
Number two- YES!!! C minor!!! And it sounds badflank, nonetheless!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

Number four- I like this a bit better than number three. 'specially the techno aspect of it.

#3 - Catchy. Very catchy. Maybe listening to it louder would be nice (don't wanna wake the neighbors...) but it seems a little under-mastered; at low volumes, at least.

The Becoming Popular remix by Princess Addictia I found to be really good.
Something by Taps. I figured this was going to be pretty good even before listening to it. lol And yup, it was a pretty good listen.
Didn't think I'd like the Metal cover of Winter Wrap Up when it started out, but I grew to liking it more as it progressed.
The C Minor version of songs are turning out to be my favourites. Taking happy bright songs and making them dark. . .win.

ReplyDeleteCompletely awesome. There were some instruments in there that went in a wonderfully unexpected direction. I feel that this piece could be taken much farther, it has so much potential. I love it. I love it so much I'm subscribing to this guy and promptly planning a remix of his song.

ReplyDelete#2 - Easily my favorite of the batch. The Castlevania feel I get from it doesn't hurt in the least bit...in fact, I think that'd make prime music for an RPG's final dungeon. (Canterlot Castle after Discord takes over, perhaps?)

#3 - ...I dunno, these stutter-loaded remixes are always hit-or-miss with me, and this one just feels like it just barely missed. *shrug*
#4 - Liked the opening, but around the 1:10 mark those higher-pitched beeps just lost me...those are about my only gripes with the song, though.
#5 - Aside from the background ponies getting drowned out? Rockin'.

ReplyDeleteYes, the dark version of At the Gala was pretty epic. I especially loved Pinkie's verse, with the music-box quality to it.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Hasbro really needs to liscense some higher-end collectables for this show. Most fans I know would kill for actual music boxes featuring songs from the show. Or some snowglobes. C'mon, it's Christmas... give me a snowglobe at least.

Hey I did the Metal cover, The only reason the Chorus backup vocals aren't there is because I used the surround sound version and the backup vocals are not centered. Hope that gives you some answers.
