@Ashton I could understand saying Skyrim resembles some other games, but Fable is not a good comparison. Let's just say it's not about the graphics, it's more about the sheer size and coherence of the universe, and also the gameplay.
ReplyDeleteOh and Fable tends to make fun of epic situations by ridiculizing them, while Skyrim keeps all the epicness unadulterated (the players do all the ridiculizing job after :p), so a difference in style too.

ReplyDeleteThe only similarity is that both are fantasy RPGs. Everything else is completely different.
@Ashton Of all the games to compare it to, Fable is about as far off as you can get. The appeal of Skyrim is not so much the gameplay or the graphics- like any Elder Scrolls game (Or the latest Fallout games), it is about the vast size of the gameworld, the immense freedom you have within it to do whatever the hell you want.

ReplyDeleteIn my defence I've not played any of the Elder Scrolls series and what little I know about Skyrim was people bragging about it's graphics and Someone did compare it to fallout (of which I think I played #1 for an hour or three and gave up in frustration due to the time limit) Though this has sparked my curiosity... maybe when I get tired of filling my free times with Pony things I'll check it out... then again, maybe sooner since given my track record with a prior fandom of the level that means around 5-10 years...

ReplyDeleteYou have to get assigned to Princess Luna. That's when the fun begins. Hell, everypony that get's assigned to her gets awesome black armor, and unlimited hot tub access. If you're a pegasus that gets assigned chariot duty, you get free wing insurance AND you get some awesome bat wings as well. Hell, the pay's pretty good as well. How good? Well, before I was assigned to Luna, I wasn't able to afford tickets to see the yearly Octavia vs DJ Pon-3 concert, but now I can afford front-row seats for my whole family, and still have enough money to get snacks as well. *looks around* And between you and me, Luna's alot more laid back. Hell, she's once gotten all of her guards to have a go-kart race.
