ReplyDeleteThat being said, my idea was that she just didn't want to style it that way. Celestia styles hers like that every day because she's very extroverted and outgoing and Luna is more conservative with her mane and is rather introverted so she kept a simple haircut.

Faust is the only one who can makeup an explanation for MLP and have it become instantly canon.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't clear - I meant pandering to classical cliched personalities and plots. How many shows do there have to be where a good ruler is turned bad due to some metaphysical influence (or evil adviser) before someone pushes an envelope? That's what I was lamenting.
-shrug- My explanation was that the princess's manes change form whenever they are using their powers to control the sun/moon, but I'll go along with Faust.

ReplyDeleteI don't think Twilight and Rarity will EVER get cool flowing manes. They are unicorns, but not ALICORNS.
ReplyDeleteI know Twilight's specialty is magic, but I honestly believe that alicorns have more magic. Alicorns have the combined magic and innate talents of all 3 races. Twilight is only a unicorn, and while she can cast spells better than anypony, she has less magic than Celestia and Luna because she is only a unicorn and does NOT have the genetics of the other 2 races to provide her with more magical ability.
I'm not ruling out the possibility that someday in the future Twi may become as powerful as Celestia, but for now I don't see it.

ReplyDeleteSince Luna was gone for the entirety of season 1, I will now accept this explanation of "Because Luna was recovering." There, now we don't have to feel bad for Luna never appearing. Instead of the real reason, which was "We couldn't find a place to fit her in."
