A group of students at Missouri S&T created this huge pony painting in one of the tunnels on their campus. It's pretty impressive to see it all come together. Kind of reminds me of the vector tutorials, but with hands instead of mouse pointers... weiiird.

(also, way to have some serious brass to do that in your college walkway tunnel. Not gunna lie, I would have felt soooo weird every time someone walked by)

ReplyDeleteI walk by this everyday, and everyday as it progressed further, it made me prouder and prouder to be a brony. This video makes it all complete. I'd say it took them about two weeks total from start to finish (note that it was several hours in the evening every second or third day.)

We actually did do a pre-sketch, but it doesn't show up on video very well. :/
And it took somewhere around 30 hours, over the course of a week.

ReplyDeleteGood luck. It's a school for engineers, and we're still sort of amazed when we can find females on campus.
God that is really good. I remember when my dad used to paint these kind of things on my wall for me when I was a kid. What he'd do was use a projector to project the image I wanted on to the wall, he'd trace it with a pencil and then line/paint it and whatnot. I wonder if these guys did the same thing here to get this picture looking so perfect.
