ReplyDeleteI think I've developed "spelling error blindness." I usually don't notice spelling errors because my mind automatically jumps to the correct word anyway. This probably means I'm a terrible copy editor. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I will second Bloomberg's notion of "Not usually into OC's, but this was alright." I can only imagine what will happen in the future. If MLP can produce this much content in a year, then what will happen over a period of five years? Since we are at the beginning, the prospects and potential is simply amazing.

ReplyDeleteMy Thoughts After Reading It: The "Caaaaaaaaake" got me. I liked it. A lot. I usually OC stories just because I prefer the ponies I know, but I thought that this one did a pretty good job with very little to work off of in terms of characters.

ReplyDelete#1: I've disliked the 20% cooler meme since it started. Sure it was funny when rainbow dash first said it; it's not funny to reference it all over the place.
ReplyDelete#2: Reeks of the boring old straight man and wise guy pairing. Err, straight mare and wise girl, I guess. Anyway, I've seen enough ostensibly sane people reigning in their crazy friend to know exactly where this is going.
The art was pretty good though. Captured the style of the show nicely; I could almost see these character designs in the show proper.

I don't know I don't read much, if any OC. I just thought that OC acted kinda weird and out of character for a pony
@Nämahs I think shes more excited about getting an actual job than being in this specific town. Also for adventures... I've often heard people calling mundane tasks that involve doing something new or wandering around a new place an 'adventure.'

Ergo, a body placed in a freezer is mathematically about 20% cooler.

ReplyDeleteOn the other hoof, I'm not a fan of the OC comic. It's made well, but I have to agree with @Nämahs that it comes off as self-insert. I don't really mind OCs as supporting characters, but if they're the main character of a comic/fic, then I don't want to read it.

ReplyDeletei dont understand why everyone is so intimidated by OC ponies. Its understandable that some ponies take it a bit too far every now and again, (for instance, an OC pony who was Celestias half sister and the daughter of a dragon, with the power over space and time.) but some ponies are really creative and make very interesting and unique characters.
