Alright, REVIEW TIME.

#1 : Funny, simple, short and awesome. Not much more to say.

#2. Now... here's where it starts. Did NOT see that coming at all. Pinkie's angry face in the first panel is quite scary. And everything that follows. Well, there's a 'Cupcakes' reference, shipping, and everything else you'd expect... yeah, that about sums it up...

Ugh, weird comic is weird. So, did Discord fall in love with Pinkimena, or Pinkie Pie? Or both?

I like the second one. I'm honestly surprised that I haven't seen a full on discord / pinkie shipfic, considering how much potential is there. And this is coming from someone who's not even normally a fan of shipfics.

Or heck, even just one where Pinkie becomes some sort of Discord cultist. Maybe he's sending her dreams or visions or something and trying to get her to free him. I mean let's face it, Pinkie WANTED everything to stay random and chaotic. That was her groove.

First comic is funny. Whenever I'm watching ponies, whether it be Season 1 or 2, it's always LIKE A BAWS.

The second comic is certainly interesting. Of course it turned to shipping. Seems like you can't get Discord and Pinkie in the same room together without it suddenly turning to shipping. Or worse. As panel 19 is suggesting. lol I also love Discord's face in panel 10 and his, uhhh... outfit and pose in panel 22. :P And awww, Distort Sphere is cute.

Saw #2 a few days ago, one of my yet-to-be brony friends said I was going to hate her when she showed me it (She knows I'm pretty much a die-hard PinkieDash fan). I can't say I like the shipping of Pinkie and Discord very much..... Celestia and Discord make more semse, honestly.

Yay controversy!

Personally I don't innately dislike the idea of characters whom I essentially view as human in mind being cast in situations like that. Don't see why parody and non-canon derivative works should be rejected solely for acknowledging parts of the human experience in a playful manner. Especially since people don't seem to have a problem with grimdark bringing in far, far worse things.

Discord commits genocide against the alicorns in one comic? Totally fine, no one's going to comment on how that goes against the spirit of the show. Pinkie shows some non-explicit flank for the sake of furthering the joke? Controversy!

Ya know, it'd be nice if Discord was "actually good inside" or something, but he's not. The dude enjoyed suffering. Pinkie wouldn't prank Fluttershy 'cause it'd hurt her feelings. Discord didn't care about anything as lowly as the emotions of mortals, as long as HE got a laugh. He mentally violated the ponies, and it's even more horrifying the more you think about it..

* Granny Smith dancing? But I thought her hip was busted.. oh wait.. suffering.. HE WAS MAKING HER DANCE IN PAIN! Alternately, he fixed it so she could dance.. but still mindlessly. Either way, it's both mental and physical control.

* Big Mac being turned into a dog? Sure it was kinda cute, but think about what that'd entail.. removing almost all the sentience from a living, thinking being.

And that was just one scene, and only after a few hours or days at MOST of his rule. Just imagine how much worse it'd get once he got "bored" with that? Discord is NOT a nice guy. He does NOT have a secret good side, as he didn't show remorse for ANYTHING, even cheering when he finally broke Twilight.

He's freaking Q without morality. Which'd make him more like Kefka or The Joker. And you REALLY don't wanna be with either one of those guys..

So, #2, good on an artistic level but not a ship I think we should let sail. They finally gave us a truly evil villian, and he should remain as such.

1. Ok, that is both funny and cute, he turns up a chance to talk to Rarity in exchange for watching season 2.

2. NOPE.avi. While I like the two characters (Pinkie being roughly tied with Dash for first now), something just don't seem to sit well with me in terms of this pairing. And this is coming from someone who would possibly ship Octavia with Applejack or Derpy with Rarity.

I saw the second one yesterday and I'll say it again since none of the people here who didn't like it apparently don't have the balls to say it: I have read the OH-SO-HORRIFYING (not really) Cupcakes, I've read the Ask Pinkamena Diane Pie, I've read Rarity's Generous Plan, I've seen tons of Scootabuse and/or filly lolicon, and I've read a Bloomberg x Fluttershy clopfic, all for shits and giggles and because none of them freak me out on an emotional level, but that comic is the most unnerving piece of fan art/comic/fic I've seen and has everything I cannot stand personally. It's fine if you like it, but hear me out.

1. Shipping in general weirds me out. There has yet to be anything in the show that justifies it's existence as plausible character developments, but yet that in and of itself is not why this disturbs me. First of all, here it is so forced that Discord convinces Pinkie that none of her friends appreciate her and laugh at her, which is a total lie that Pinkie accepts only because the author wanted a reason to ship the characters. This type of misogynist "I love him because he truly *loves* me and no one else does" is a standard trope of these types of shipping and I think it's rather regressive against the type of message the show's creators try to convey.

2. Cupcakes. Just no. It's a dumb joke that is brought up without fail every damn time Pinkie is sad or angry, and yet has no basis in the show and is completely
inconsistent with her character.

3. Dear. God. That bedroom scene. *shudder* I'm just going to pit this out there, but Discord basically is a Frankenstein monster, and he almost definitely does not have pony *cough* parts. How is the idea of that bedroom scene not disturbing (unless you like that sort of interspecies thing...)?

4. A baby. WHAT. Wat. Holy fuck. HOLY FUCK.

You could say that the genuinely good art makes up for it, but it just makes it more disturbing to me. Just... why does this need to exist?

And that's why you dislike it. You analyse it too much. I mean really, who -cares- about consistency with the characters? Tell me one darn fic that is even a great-great-nephew twice removed of the word consistency with the characters.

Enjoy it for what it is; a well-drawn and ROFL-worthy comic. I have little more than pity for those who don't enjoy fanfics of any form for any reason other than "it's not my cup of tea." Unless the fic really fell upside down with say, uncapitalized I's or lack of remotely standard grammar.

Uh, just going to put it out there, that's what she thought IN THE ACTUAL EPISODE. The whole point was she was twisted to think everything was laughing at her.

It doesn't take a brainiac to think if he is capable of doing that, he's capable of convincing her that he alone isn't laughing.

Pinky Pie having such a bad case of stockholm syndrom in #2 is indeed sad and I agree there's very little good in Discord. He's truly chaotic evil.
But I gotta love the art. Just read it again just because it's drawn and put in scene so well.

I was really hoping that Discord would realise that pranks aren't nearly as fun when you're the only one laughing when he was talking to Grey Twilight; for a moment, it looked like they were going that route. Since he cheered and gloated instead, I'd say he doesn't care about anyone but himself.

I think some people are missing the point. 2 is almost certainly intended to be wickedly disturbing, if oddly cute. Discord is quite obviously and unrepentant wrapping Pinkie emotionally around his middle finger, much in a Harley Quinn sort of way.

At what it sets out to do, it succeeds with flying colors.

Discord Pie...it's like a train wreck. You don't want to stare, but you just can't take your eyes off it. It's so wrong, and in some morbid fashion...just so right.
