Hey! You! With the pony! You like ponies, don't you? What a silly question- of course you do, everypony likes ponies. You know what's even better when you add ponies to it? Pretty much everything, you quack. Doubly so when you add Rarity. Her problem-solving skills and dashing beauty can defuse even the most hostile of situations. If she were in London right now, the only riots happening would be over her. (Note: Cereal has no idea why there are riots in London.)

ReplyDeleteThe riots in England are the result of a shooting of a man several days ago. He was armed and a police rifleman deemed he was a threat. He killed the man. Procedure forbids the police from interacting with the family. Instead another agency is responsible for addressing the concerns of the family. They failed to do so. Outrage built and unfortunately the police adopted a 'we are screwed either way' attitude that many young brits found apathetic.

Because there is a chronic shortage of prison space, judges are unable to levy punative sentances for the rioters, resulting in many of them being released after 24 hours. Because many of them are poor, the typical fines are useless as a deterrant. They don't have money anyway. Add to this a growing sense by the rioter that the police are helpless to really stop them and it looks ugly. Filling London with cops just started riots in Birmingham.
Thats it, we're playing this mod at this weekends LAN party.

I remember playing Generals all the time in college. I was never any good at attacking though. I would just build a ton of bunkers and planes and defend my teams bases and did hit and run attacks while everyone else when on offence. I would love to start playing it again. Someone has to make this.
