Desigos has sent us some Android boot animations from the Desktop Ponies app!
If you have a super-awesome Android phone, this set is for you. Well, actually, even if you have a mid-range Android phone, this is also for you. Actually, it's for all Android phones. Your device just has to be rooted. Keep in mind that doing so will void your warranty and possibly brick your phone if you do it incorrectly, since you're essentially granting yourself root privileges on the operating system (since Android is, indeed, Unix-based). There are plenty of guides for how to do this, and most of them are hardware-specific, so a trip to Google is in order.

However Unix != Linux.

ReplyDeleteAccording to some dude on one of the picture's deviantArt pages, it is in fact possible to change the boot animation without rooting the phone.

I am definitely replacing my boot screen with Fluttershy.
ReplyDeleteAnd rooting an Android isn't a big issue. It's an easy enough task to unroot it and put it back to stock.
