ReplyDeleteSeriously screw facebook, they always do stuff like this. They delete groups promoting free speach, going against dictatorships. If they care so little about that , why would they care a iota about an obscure fandom? I would try google+ and see if it's any better or at least less bad.

ReplyDeleteI think it's semi-automated, with just the final call coming down to the average guy sitting in the offices. there was probably a flagging raid, and when you have stuff to do, a group with a ton of spam flags just looks like a no brainer.

Its a sorry excuse for a social networking site, especially for MLP fans. I recommend FlankBook far over the douchebaggery that is FaceBook. FlankBook has better management (who arnt effing flag monkies) and a way better social community that ACTUALLY socializes.

Yeah at the moment on G+ if you want a group you just throw everyone from that group into the same circle, and everyone involved does the same. If they want to.

ReplyDeleteFacebook has little to no human interaction at the customer service level. Much of the functionality is automated. With a strong enough mass of trolls, the system may have accepted the spam flag as legit, just due to numbers. This kind of abuse has been rampant on facebook, and I refuse to support Facebook for that among many, MANY other reasons, most involving privacy rights.
ReplyDeleteSituations like this need to be resolved. My suggestion, is to attempt to have the group reinstated (you must try this first). When Facebook fails you (they almost always do), add to the growing list of BBB (Better Business Bureau) complaints. If enough complaints happen, they could be investigated for failure to provide adequate customer service response when their service fails the user. It could prompt forcing them to restructure their customer service operations.
If I used Facebook, I'd join the group, but since I refuse to use the service, I can't join. I will gladly continue participating here, where I know trolls can simply be ignored, and where we know our fellow bronies hang out too.
Bleh. Oh well, roll on Diaspora.. for the time being, liked once again.

We should not only rebuild on Facebook, but also expand to Google+, increasing our members and making us stronger. then before. The Bronies Facebook may have faltered, but it has not fallen!
