I'm sure you all remember the previous iteration of this comic! Egophiliac has done it again, proving that Celestia and Luna don't always have to be evil or grimdark or trying to destroy Equestria. I love the apples out of this.

ReplyDeleteAs best I can guess, it's just the artists rendition of a shortening of CelesTIA.
Confusing if you know Spanish, but otherwise it makes sense to me. Luna would probably use Tia more than Celes, plus it sounds more endearing.
Many props to the artist. All of his works have been great boons to the pony community.

My second reaction: Wow, these comics are so good, and just by coincidence the artist and I shared the Tia brainwave... best comics ever. <3

ReplyDeleteThe guy's stuff is amazing. It's brilliantly drawn, it's got pathos, it's got real wit, and the way he draws the characters in a slightly different style that totally works is awesome.
ReplyDeleteIn spite of how heartbreaking and great the Luna & Celestia comics are, my favourite thing he's done is the looks on the faces of Pinkie Pie and Applejack in the last frame of the rope trick comic.

If you pay attention during the first episode's introduction ( the story book about nightmare moon/Luna and Celestia ) Celestia at first is depicted to having a pink mane, two pink wings and tail. People often forgot the wings though lol.
Luna is super cute in this, Celestia is super cute too. I'm d'awwwwwwwwwing all over, over here.

I do agree with the fact that Luna and Celly are sisters, and I don't want any grimmydark stuff between them. (Hint: there are other bad guys than Nightmare Moon!)
In my head, Luna is cute, adorkable, awkward with crowds, good with things mathy and scientific, and prefers to be with her sister or alone with her daydreams. None of this "evil queen of darkness"-stuff, thanks.
