It is not that I dislike rarity I just like the other ponies more. Rarity is ok I guess, but not as good as everyone else.

That's because she's at least 20% cooler than all of the others.
Personally, I like her. I prefer to believe that most who voted liked them all and that it's simply they just barely like Rarity only a little less, but they still like all of them. Or something like that.

I'm actually pretty shocked with Pinkie's results. She did really fine in that survey thing (#3 favourite, #2 as 2nd favourite)
I didn't vote. I tried desperately to think of one I don't like as much as the rest but couldn't. Unfair poll :(

I was actually almost devastated that there was no "Don't make me pick!" option.

I still love every character in the show, with the exeption of Snips and Snails.
They were just annoying...
Art of the Dress is still outstandingly awesome.

I came so close to just skipping this poll. It's hard to say "she's my least favorite" while still saying "but I still love her." That's all sorts of emotion rolled into one. I felt so dirty after clicking!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad Twilight got the second-to-least number of votes, since she's my favorite character with the other lead ponies in a very close tie for second. I think I'm just a fag for the main character of every show I ever watch.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't try to refute the fact that Twilight is the number one main character of FiM by saying they all co-star one another. While that fact is true, Twilight Sparkle making friends and learning about friendship is the entire premise for the show. Just saying.
It was hard to choose the one I liked least ^^; They all have things I like and dislike about them, really.

ReplyDeleteI really like all of the main cast ponies, so I had a hard time picking for this poll. In the end I picked Fluttershy because I don't have any OCs (I'm not talking fan-characters here) that act like that, nor have I made any friends that act like her. So it's really hard for me to relate. All of the others that were in the poll either correlate with a character I've already had well enough that I kinda have a feel for how they might act in a lot of situations, or they remind me of people I know in person.

ReplyDeleteRarity can be kind but her obsession with fashion makes her seem almost I say ALMOST stuck up a bit. She is a good pony but I like the others more. Rainbow Dash slightly is a tomboy which I like, fluttershy is shy and full of win, twilight is a nerd which I like, pinkie pie is random like I can be, applejack and rarity are ok but not my favorites

Rarity and Apple jack being the highest voted makes sense.

I used to be able to sit there and say Rarity was my least favorite, but after the Suited for Success episode she really grew on me as a character. Now I can't even vote because I have my three favorites (Applejack by far, then Fluttershy, then Applebloom) but the rest I like about equally and none of them I could possibly pick now as "liking the least", at least among the main six.

I am kinda surprised that Rainbow Dash garnered the fewest votes in the end, but I am also pleased. Anyhow, the wording of this poll - "least" favorite - was highly appropriate, in that it's very evident many of us (myself included) don't dislike *any* of the main cast. That's a serious accomplishment the FiM team has going. It's tough to choose, sure, but not every poll should be easy!
ReplyDeleteExcept this one *was* easy, for me. Applejack. Whom I don't dislike. (Applebuck Season, c'mon!) But she is seriously far behind Fluttershy, who trails Pinkie Pie by a significant margin, who lags behind Rarity something fierce, who is a teeny bit behind Rainbow Dash, who is the smallest of smidgimeters behind Twilight Sparkle.
Really, don't make me choose between Twilight, Dash, and Rarity. @_@

My least favorite is, at this point, probably Applejack, and I *like* her! It's just that she's such a down-to-earth character and compared to the others she suffers.

I voted Pinkie, because "LOL so randum xD" characters don't do much for me.

ReplyDeleteI like Rarity a lot because she's so conflicted -- she has a generous nature, but she's also proud and vain; when those conflict, she shows some real depth (as in Suited for Success).
Dash is kind of the same way; she's highly competitive and justifiably proud of her abilities, but she never hurts people intentionally. Don't bring up Applejack -- I'm speaking emotionally. Anyway, she knows AJ will give as good as she gets. (And the make-up sex is awesome. *cough*)
Sometimes, yes, that means they both act like douches; but if they didn't have anywhere to grow (see Pinkie), they would never need to learn anything.
I like Rarity. I don't dislike any of the ponies, TBH. This was a hard one to do.
ReplyDeleteWhich is not, naturally, to say I actually dislike Pinkie. ^_^ I just feel she's the one character who could be removed without really affecting the group dynamic. Also, "laughter" is bullshit. Her element should have been "joy". Laughter stops the minute you stop laughing; joy will keep your spirits up in the worst spots.

Apart from her brush with lunacy due to sleep deprivation (which was hilarious), she's been playing conflict echo chamber, and not much more.
