Derpy Day
For those that aren't, here are the copy pasted rules.
"March 1st is Derpy Day!
Be sure to remember the observances of this most Pony of Hoofidays.
-Muffins. At least one must be consumed by days end, lest Pinkie's tail twitch for you.
-The Muffin shaped cake is fine even if you are not Orthodox Derpy.
-An article must be moved from one area of the house and placed in the wrong one for the entire Hoofiday.
-Letters must be hoof written and delivered to those you love within delivery distance. E-mails have now been recognized for those too far for this observance.
At least try to deliver one RL letter.
The Letters are to be about why you love them or are thankful they are your friend. (Bonus writing a loving friendship letter to an enemy.)
-Anytime a picture of you is taken or you see yourself in a mirror, you must give the traditional Derpy Occular salute. 9_6

With this holy day, we need to remind ourselves that it is not about how silly you look on the outside that makes you who you are, it is the sillyness on the inside that counts.

ReplyDeleteThere must be a bakery or something you have access to Phoe. I think Derpy would go through hail, sleet, and snow to get her daily muffin as well as deliver the mail.

ReplyDeleteIt really is kind of complicated. I'm looking at a pretty sizable distance between my apartment and the nearest place that could even potentially be interested in selling muffins. But that wouldn't stop Derpy, and it won't stop me. Not on this day!
my nephews birthday party is tomorrow and they are having cupcakes, do those count as muffins?

While I'd be willing to grant you that, say, April 3rd is probably a more appropriate day for this, is there no part of you that thinks it's fitting for Derpy's big day to come pretty much completely out of left field? Besides, this is pretty much how *most* holidays get started, and at least this way the only thing it's competing with is National Pig Day (seriously, look it up).
Update: Took 45 minutes of driving to find a muffin today. Where do I go for my medal? Plaque? Ribbon? Pat on the back? Anything? Aw.

ReplyDeleteThis may seem off topic, but I have some potentially bad news. In episode 4: Applebuck Season, when Derpy first says "muffin," I noticed that Colgate, the pony with the blue hair to the right and a little bit lower on the screen, was there and she also appeared to be saying "muffin."
ReplyDeleteThe worst case scenario would be that it was not Derpy who loves muffins but Colgate.
Best case scenario: They both love muffins!
