I have been informed that today is the 10th anniversary of the Nightly Discussions. It is hard to believe that it has been a decade since they started as a way to keep people from posting off-topic discussions on the other posts on the site. It seems, in the end, all of you just needed a place to call home to build a community around EqD.

It makes me happy that you all have been able to find a place here and I hope that you'll be able to for many years to come. I know I don't drop in much, but I do hope that you all are still having fun even now, 10 years later.

Discussion: What Were G4 My Little Pony's Greatest Successes?

Generation 4 of pony was probably one of the most successful cartoons ever if you count how ridiculously huge the fandom got for it. It has influenced an entire generation of animators who bring what they loved from their childhoods watching the show to cartoons of their own.

What do you think made it such a massive success? What did it do well that set it apart from other TV aimed originally at girls?
