The pony fandom started off as a silly meme for most people, with funni reaction images and gifs invading whatever sites they frequented. Eventually the "dark side" of the pony fandom started getting noticed, and articles written about it.

Source Do you think Sunny is a good protagonist for G5? Does she round out the group well enough? How does she compare to Twilight?
I think Sunny is fairly okay as a protagonist. She (along with a lot of the characters in G5), however, feels a little wanting for depth though. Twilight had a lot of character flaws and detail even in Season 1, and it made her feel more alive and believable. Some of the character interactions feel flat in G5 by comparison because there is less writing depth overall.

The tale of Twilight Sparkle is a long and turbulent tale. Filled to the brim with ups and downs, challenges and conflicts. To properly convert this story to music, I chose to do it in a Prog Metal style since the genre lends itself very well to story driven songs. From the beginning to end, this song explores the themes of friendship, conflicts, joys and lessons.
