Our Thoughts Go Out to Our Friends in France

Once again our friends in France are met with a national tragedy as dozens of French citizens have been killed or injured in a horrific attack in Nice, France. To our pony fans dealing with these hard and uncertain times we here at Equestria Daily extend our best wishes. It's a shame that so soon after the Orlando attack we are here once again.

BronyCon Coverage: MLP Comics in the Marketplace

No matter what type of convention you go to, if you get enough fans of one property together some will always be enjoying the wonderful world of comics. BronyCon was no exception. With five members of the IDW Staff, a BronyCon exclusive cover from Jetpack Comics, and one particular vendor with a wall of comics that would actually make for a really good wallpaper display, the comics were definitely present at the con.

But the question remained, were people reading/buying them? Were people talking about them? Were people enjoying them at the convention?

Aside from me and my two friends myself and I?

Well, there were at least two people who were enjoying the books. I spotted the two above reading the comics shortly after picking up my badge on Thursday. As for the rest of the questions, well, you'll just have to check out the rest of the article after the break.

Discord Origins Exploration Contest - Write or Draw Discord's Origins!

One thing we still haven't heard much at all about yet even after six seasons and multiple comics, are the origins of Discord. His history is as mysterious as his mental processes.

On the 18th of this month, a giant episode length Discord origins animation will be releasing from the team corralled up by ILoveKimPossibleAlot. Check out the trailer for it over here! We've decided to hype it up a bit and team up by running a contest for the next five days while waiting for it to release.

All you need to do is either draw an image of your take on the origins of Discord, or write a fanfic about it. It can be anything you want, from BORN OUT OF A DYING STAR to grown from a moldy donut. It's entirely up to you. Be creative! 

On top of this, Entertainment Earth has decided to send us a bunch of MyMoji figures to give out. Four people that submit either a fanfic or a drawing of the origins of Discord will be randomly chosen as winners of a pack of six of them.

If you don't want to hope for a win, you can just buy them over here, or go check out their pony section. It's pretty overflowing with upcoming Guardians of Harmony and other figures.

Almost Full Set of Guardians of Harmony Figures Now Listed on Amazon

I guess that staggered release for Guardians of Harmony is switching gears to a full on flood with the episodes starting up again on the 30th. Amazon now has listings for almost the entire set up. Unfortunately they are not pre-orderable yet, but if Celestia and Nightmare Moon were any indication, they probably will be soon.

A Guide to Pony Tears - Season One

Howdy everyone! TheSlorg here, and it's time to address something that has been bothering me for a while now.

Ponies cry. A lot.

Seriously, though, My Little Pony can be a lot more emotional than many viewers might initially predict. There have been tears of sorrow, tears of joy, and an occasional tear from pain. I began to take notice somewhere around season four, and it's been nagging me ever since then. Just how often do they cry? Is it every episode? Which pony cries the most often?

Well, if you've ever wondered the same—or are just bored and need a few minutes of entertainment—then you're in luck! I've taken on the enormous task of studying every single episode of My Little Pony, and have counted the tears. We'll be exploring the entire series, starting with season one, and we'll even include non-pony characters for the fun of it. Head on below the break to get the facts!

The winneer of the BronyCon PMV contest gets it's own post! Destiny creates a good mix of both motion graphics and traditional style scenes with some excellent synching to the music. It definitely deserved the props.
