I suspect Pinkie herself!
ReplyDeleteI hope it involves more then just Pinkie Pie this time.
ReplyDeleteYes pinky episode
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like some straight up Agatha Christie shit right up in here.
ReplyDeleteBallin'.
No fear detective pinkie is on the case
ReplyDeleteNo fear detective pinkie is on the case
ReplyDeleteI really really really really really hope twilight dresses up like sherlock holmes. That would make my life
ReplyDeleteI CAN'T WAITTTT
ReplyDeleteSo...wait, That DVD had an actual place in the title?
ReplyDeleteRarity ate it.
ReplyDeleteYou heard it hear first!
And that's the appropriate tag added to Ponibooru. Should be a great episode! ^_^
ReplyDeleteMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBANANASDIDIT
ReplyDeleteWow, we got parodies (at least in name) of L.A. Confidential and Murder on the Orient Express both coming up. My inner noir geek is pleased.
ReplyDeleteAlso, why three the Ms?
@Atlas
ReplyDeleteIm gonna say trollestia ate it
GUYS.
ReplyDeleteGUYS.
GUYS GUYS GUYSSSS.
This is the last announced ep before the finale.
That's it.
We're done here.
Season 2 is coming to a close.
Let's hope it's an awesome one.
They sure as hell better make a Sherlock Holmes reference. Or hell, maybe an Agatha Christie reference.
ReplyDeleteEither way, it will be an awesome episode :D
I guess we'll get a...
ReplyDeleteSLICE of action.
YEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!
And now all the season two episodes are accounted for. This is episode 50. The last two are the season finale.
ReplyDelete...I'm sorry, Scootaloo. Maybe... you'll get your episode in season three?
I'm pretty sure the writers have started reading fanfics :P
ReplyDeleteIf they are gonna do an Orient Express parody, they should totally do Rashomon as well.
ReplyDeleteThe great and powerful trixie ate it!
ReplyDeletesounds like fun :)
ReplyDeleteI can think of only Noir Pinkie from "A Step-by-step Guide to Driving Twilight Sparkle Insane."
ReplyDelete"So far, coming to the cottage had only given me more questions. Questions, rising to the surface of my mind like bubbles in a glass of Coca-Colta. Where did Fluttershy get those delicious brownies? Was that supposed to be a table, or just abstract art? Why was my magnifying glass making everything look smaller instead of larger? Where did I even get a magnifying glass in the first place?”
I was just thinking someone should use the Friendship Express in a title like that.
ReplyDeleteIt was Pinkie in the Library with a dagger.
ReplyDeleteMystery solved, next.
@doozier
ReplyDeleteOnly reason I can think of for the triple M is that the cake was tasty, therefor "Mmm, that was delicious." Otherwise, yeah, I have no clue of the repeated letter myself.
Also, Derpy ate it the cake. Her, or the butler (it's always the butler!)
I blame gummy!
ReplyDeleteAnd there is the Friendship Express!!! I get a feeling there might be some steampunk. Just yknow. It's a train.
ReplyDeleteA mystery happening in a train... This sounds interesting. Is it too much to hope Pinkie has to stop the train from exploding or running or a cliff or whatever extreme train accident?
Oh well. Surely we'll get a Scootasode next season. WE'D BETTER.
ReplyDeleteGranted, a Pinkie episode is the next best thing, even if she has already been represented.
This will be an awesome ep! Maybe there will be a ponified Agatha Christie or Sherlock Holmes :DDDD
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing I can't wait to see CSI Pinkie Pie
ReplyDeleteThat's totally the same name as the "Friendship Express" DVD. Hasbro really wanted them to push that train set! I wonder if the in-universe name of that train system of Equestria is called the "Friendship Express" or something else?
ReplyDeleteNo matter! We now know what fits in the gap of episode 24!
YAY another Pinkie episode, i love my life
ReplyDeleteIt just gets better and better! Yay!
ReplyDeleteThe episode isn't for a other month but I'm all ready exited theheheh
Reminds me of that one chapter from Paper Mario: TTYD
ReplyDeleteDay before my birthday :D
ReplyDeletea whodunnit on a train!?!?!??
ReplyDeleteEPIC!!!!!!
As a lover of mystery fiction, I cannot wait for this.
ReplyDeleteThey all did it. Except the wife, her husband did it for her.
ReplyDelete"Never fear, Detective Pinkie Pie is here!"
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame we're not getting a Scootaloo episode, but it's a sacrifice I'll gladly make to see more second-best pony. Sounds like it'll be a really fun episode, too.
"Twilight Sparkle goes super saiyan five"? That's seriously in the URL? And Ponyville Confidential's URL says "Daring Do for president". http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tv/Daring-Do-For-President/EP013304160049
ReplyDeleteAlso, it was definitely Old Man Jenkins from the abandoned amusement park.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain about the Scootaloo episode, but if the showrunners reveal that Scootaloo has parents and is a perfectly normal child, what will people write weepy fanfics about?
ReplyDeleteAre we sure that "MMMystery" isn't a typo? What if it's supposed to be "Mystery"?
ReplyDeleteI can already see Pinkie as crazy Sherlock and Twilight as reasonable Watson.
ReplyDeleteOh please please please, make this happen! :D
Yes, sounds awesome as usual!
ReplyDeletePinkie investigating things? Hell yes.
ReplyDeleteI thought "Friendship Express" was lame. Now I learn it is a parody of Christie's Orient Express. This is why this show is awesome.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it will be descent pinky pie ftw!
ReplyDeleteYEESSSS FINALLY I FIND OUT THE EPISODE THAT WILL BE SHOWN ON MY BDAY!!! to bad it wasnt a rarity one meh im still happy lol
ReplyDeleteMurder on a train!? Oh, wait, it was a cake? Whatever, still awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe old tale of mystery and intrigue on a train.
ReplyDeleteThe search for clues begins...
Cake Theft Mystery Dinner Train
ReplyDeleteinb4, sherlock holmes ref
ReplyDeleteI hoped for Rarity episode, but mystery? Thats even better!
ReplyDeleteMystery, trains and ponies , this is going to be fun. Extra points if everyone winds up dressed up or there's a black & white monologue scene.
ReplyDelete@Arcane Scroll Same here. The last two, especially Pinkie's last episode focused way too much on the leading character of that episode.
ReplyDeleteTrue story, I did a drawing last week or so from a hat to see which character would get episode 24 of this season, and I expected this episode to have one of the regular cast members (The six ponies and Spike), and I actually drew Pinkie Pie's name from the hat. I guess I picked the right character!
Anyway, I hope this turns out to be the best Pinkie Pie episode of the season. The first one was just okay, and the second one was pretty good, but not my favorite.
Inb4 culprit turns out to be Trixie.
ReplyDelete[spoiler!]
ReplyDeleteEverypony is the culprit.
And so like Season 1, we get a Pinkie Pie episode before the season finale.
ReplyDeleteI'm already sure that the Season 3 premiere will give us more backstory to Celestia and Luna (ex. how they came into existence, who their mom and dad were if they had parents.)
But I would love to see a two-part Scootaloo episode to open S3. Poor filly has less character than [Insert Background Pony here.], and after not getting the spotlight to herself for two seasons, would be a great way to expand her as a character. (No offense writers, but RD fangirl will only get you so far.)
That and we've been told for a while that her episode is coming. Just not in Season 2, as is now apparent.
is probably gummy
ReplyDelete@James Rye
ReplyDeletePlease, Pinkie Pie is more Dirk Gently than Sherlock Holmes...
(Though neither have any reason to be on the Orient Express, that was Poirot...)
...Though to hear Pinkie blabbering on about the interconnected-ness of all things....
I sense a Pinkie P.I.E coming on
ReplyDelete(+5 internets to you if you figured out P.I.E meant Private Investigator Extrodinare without reading this bit first)
Pinkie meets Holmes meets Poirot?(Possibly)
ReplyDeleteDO WANT!
This looks like it's gonna be fun
It was Gummy in the sleeper with the Pastry bag!!
It's either going to be the one with a grudge against Pinkie early in the episode, or the background pony who appeared for 5 seconds and had one or two lines of dialogue.
ReplyDeleteFriendship Express=Canterlot Train and Mmmorshu are now canon!
ReplyDeleteTo celebrate, here's Mmmy litlle pony!:
MMMMmmmmmMMMMmmmMMMmmmmMMMMMmmmmMMM MMM MMM MMMMmmmMMMmmmMMmmMMmmMMMMmmMMMMmMMMmmMmmmMMmmMMmmMMMMmMMMMmmmMMMmmMMMmMMMmmmMMMmmmM
But no seriously though, train mysteries are SO cliche...
ReplyDelete"My Little Investigations" is canon!!
ReplyDeletePinkie's investigation eliminates everypony except herself.
ReplyDeleteCalling it
ReplyDeleteThe butler did it
It was all of them!
ReplyDeleteOoh, and let the Pinkie meets Poroit and Holmes and Marple, etc. fanart BEGIN!
ReplyDelete@BananaPudding Yes! That would make my day :D
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie is loveliest pony, sweetest pony, most beautiful pony, most clever pony, most capable pony... a GODDESS.
ReplyDeleteMy body wasn't ready for another Pinkie episode announcement! Once again, Pink Pony gets more episodes than everyone, because, well, no other pony holds a candle on her. :3
BRING IT!
Wonder if they will have any breaks in april before the season finale
ReplyDeleteYou'd think she would have a Pinkie sense that could warn her about some devious pony eating what's not theres.
ReplyDeleteI say everypony did it. The questions is... Why?
ReplyDeleteHercule Poirot all over again! xD
ReplyDeleteI Smell something "Black and White Sherlock Holmes" Style
ReplyDeletePink Panther-ish Halirty Ensues?
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of Inspector Clouseau and the Pink Panther.
ReplyDeleteDa dum...da dum...da dum de dum de DUM de dum de DUUUMMMMMM...da da da de dum...
Lol it airs the day right before my birthday
ReplyDelete@CogWeaver
ReplyDeleteTHANKS CAPT. OBVIOUS, YOU'VE SAVED US AGAIN!!!
I absolutely LOVE trains! A locomotive I'm partial to is the-*Hit by train* Well, that hurt. I actually like them, I'm not just making an asdfmovie reference. Good to have a cartoon where there are trains making a regular appearance!
ReplyDeleteA classic: investigation on a train... But how will ponies pull it off?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Nuclear Dawn in PS1 game...
ReplyDeleteKnowing how crazy Pinkie can get, she's probably the one that caused the whole mess. But as always, I'm reserving judgement on this one. This one sounds like it can be pretty cool. Then again, they all have.
ReplyDeleteL.A neighor?
ReplyDeleteI seriously doubt it would happen, but if the pony investigating says "ZVARRI!" or there's a pony with a key as a cutie mark (or any other Ace Attorney ref's) I will die happy.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie as a detective??????????????????
ReplyDeleteAnd Trixie would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those pesky kids.
ReplyDeleteCakes on a train!
ReplyDeleteNOIR EPISODE. I LOVE NOIR.
ReplyDelete@GuerreroPerdido Sounds more Agatha Christie than Noir to me.
ReplyDeleteAnd if Rainbow is Watson this proves that the writers DO read fan-fictions!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's going to be Pinkie-centric. If it is a take on Murder on the Orient Express, the whole Mane Six will be there, Twilight will take charge (if not provoked by Pinkie), and continue from there.
ReplyDeleteBrutally honest, but we haven't had a good full-cast episode this season; they may all be present but don't have important parts, and only something like The Last Roundup is where all six are core to the story. (compare this to Dragonshy, Swarm of the Century, etc.) This synopsis is a good way to round out the season with a full cast.
I'm tire of these &#&%(&%*))#@ CAKES on this ^^&*#*&$(@)&$) TRAIN!
ReplyDeleteThe last episode to be announced, granted that the season finale is a two-parter and includes that wedding. It feels kinda sad that MLP comes to a close.
ReplyDeleteHas there been any official confirmation for a Season Three?
"The Pink Pony", coming this holiday season to a theater near you.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I suspect that the cake was ruined by Rarity. Most likely because it called her a bitch.
Its law and order: Pony Style!!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteNo Trixie? :(
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one's who sad that there's no Trixie?
ReplyDeletePonified Hercule Poirot? I am so down.
ReplyDeleteStill no scootaloo ep. :(
please...oh please...there needs to be more 4th wall shenanigans
ReplyDeleteDerpy is the Rail Tracer!
ReplyDeleteI really hope she doesn't get addicted to Party Time Mint-als along the way D:
ReplyDeleteSpoilers: The preist is really a half-alien, half-human giant bee hybrid, and he killed them all.
ReplyDeleteWait, that's a Doctor Who episode. My mistake.
Oh god....pinkie should get holmes hat
ReplyDelete@TheBlankedFile
ReplyDeleteI'm just wondering why most of you expect Trixie to return anyway? She was just a one-time character who was just there for the sake of the episode. I'm starting to think people let fanon affect the way they see the show hence all the disappointments just because it didn't fit what they wanted.
It was Twilight in the dining car with a salad fork!
ReplyDelete(vague Clue reference)
Should have used this for the picture:
ReplyDeletehttp://alexeng1995.deviantart.com/favourites/?offset=552#/d4jrdlt
@smerdis Yup, and 14 episodes are arleady done. =D
ReplyDeleteThis episode might be full of pink panther and Sherlock Hommes references. I'm arleady sure it will be one of the best episode of the season.
Brace yourselves for more Pinkie gasp.
ReplyDeleteLooks like we're now in...
ReplyDelete*sunglasses*
...a sticky situation.
YAAAAAAAAYYY......
@Alesio How I wish for this to happen..
ReplyDeleteYou'd better follow the Knox Decalogue, PINKIE!
ReplyDeleteOr Van Dine's PILLARS!
Penalty for breaking these rule sets is DEATH.
DeathDeathDeathDeathDeathDeath
-Die the death! Sentence to death! Great equalizer is the death!-
*cough* Sorry. I had a reference stuck in my throat.
it was steven magnet, totally called it.
ReplyDeleteWoo, train murder mystery!
ReplyDeleteA train mystery? This sounds... familiar...
ReplyDeleteOh, come on! Next Twilight will be her Moriarty.
ReplyDeleteMurder mystery aboard a train! Classic!
ReplyDeleteOf course this is My Little Pony, so the victim is a cake.
Sound interesting! :D
ReplyDelete@daddyboom HA! I thought the same thing. I loved that game.
ReplyDeleteThey ALL did it!
ReplyDeleteWow. That reminds me of the Ministry of Morale from Fallout: Equestria. O_O
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@doozier
ReplyDeleteMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Richer.
i bet there'll be a Sherlock Holmes reference somewhere in the episode.
ReplyDeleteHuh, that's definitely the strangest episode synopsis we've had.
ReplyDeleteI predict Pinkie to be the culprit !
ReplyDelete(would be such an obvious twist ...)
Investigation? Mystery? Cake? Sounds like its going to be another awesome episode as always!
ReplyDeleteI suspect everypony.
ReplyDeleteI know! It was RED HERRING!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's funny?
ReplyDeleteI once was RP'ing as Pinkie Pie, and it descended into a mystery RP. I then spent the rest of the RP as "Sherlock Pinkie".
...I'm suddenly reminded of that, xD
This episode sounds great. Can't wait for it!
Yeah what's with the three M's? The last thing I know of pony related that had multiple M's before a word was... Mother of god.
ReplyDeleteDo you like MMM-Bananas?
*cough* Anyway. This episode sounds like it's gonna be fun. Especially if Pinkie PI is on the case. And now I'm reminded of that fantastic one-shot, Sparkles Law. Gah my mind is in reference-seeker overdrive today.
I'm getting flashbacks of Ace Attorney and Ace Attorney Investigations here...
ReplyDeleteThe MMM is because the mystery centers around cake, which is yummy, so like a bowl of Campbell's soup, Pinkie would say "MMM" when she eats it.
ReplyDeleteI was going to suspect Gummy, but since we've already got three comments to that effect I'm gonna go out on a limb instead and blame Angel the picky eater.
@Jimperator
ReplyDeleteThe letters. The letters! What do the letters mean? What do the letters mean Jimperator!?
It was Pinkie in the Cabin with the Pie
ReplyDelete1. Dis gunna be good
ReplyDelete2. I bet there is going to be that horror sound effect that was in the baby cakes episode (the one where she tries to find poundcake)
It's a MLP Whodunit episode!
ReplyDeleteHeheh, I love Weird Al.
ReplyDeleteSpike!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so this concludes all episodes until the finale. Now I know what I'm dealing with.
ReplyDeleteRemember way back when 1 or 2 Bronycons ago? Jayson said there would be a scary episode AND a new villain coming up for season 2. Now It's a 2-parter with a wedding shocker, so the villain there isn't too surprising.
However, we still haven't reall had a "scary" episode all season, even when it was Halloween. Now some might debate that "Lesson Zero" was the scary episode, and I'd be inclined to agree...
HOWEVER, considering that one of the animators tweeted that a scene he worked on in the season 2 finale that was "the most disturbing thing he ever worked on", comparing it to a stick figure mammogram and Spanish Barbie...
There is absolutely no way my body will be ready for the finale.
So many Pinkie episodes. We need a Derpy episode to piss off the annoying parents.
ReplyDeleteMoar Pinkie goodess! Yip-yip, hooray!
ReplyDelete"Alright gang, Let's split up and look for clues."
ReplyDeletePinkie's going to be as hilarious a detective as the one in Paper Mario's Train Ride (The Thousand Year Door).
Ironically enough, it was ALSO about a stolen cake.
ReplyDeleteFUCK YEAH PINKIE PIE!
ReplyDeleteOh snap, a mystery episode! Should be good!
ReplyDeleteYay!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait!
@Dionysus
ReplyDeleteDine's Fourth and Knox's Seventh: The detective cannot be the culprit.
definitely sounds like a good ol train "who dun it" mystery. I just hope we get a CSI Horatio/Shades-One Liner to go with this.
ReplyDeleteThree words come to mind: My Little Investigations
ReplyDeleteMurder on the Orient Express parody? OH MY GOD YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES.
ReplyDeleteI love the MLP team.
Hmm, this is interesting, and could easily be an ensemble episode. Remember, it only says that Pinkie was guarding it, not that she's the only pony, or even the main pony, investigating.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be awesome, since the ponies are going to investigate which pony ruined Pinkie Pie's cake!!!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteHmm, if the first episode of the finale airs on 4/21, shouldn't there be another episode on the 14th? Unless they are taking another week off. Anybody know?
ReplyDeleteIf Pinkie makes a reference to Mr. Body's confession at the end of Clue, my brain will explode with epic.
ReplyDeleteHoly fuck, could we be getting the prophesied PINKIE PIE NOIR EP already?!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeletemy god i had to miss the new episode on saturday the 10 thats just freakin great can anypny tell me what it was about i cant wait untill it gets uploaded to youtube
ReplyDeleteWoah what the hell the next ep airs april 7th!!! thats soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon long from now ahhh man face palm
ReplyDelete@lenneal
ReplyDeleteUh, there is an episode every week before then too.
Shiiit, no Celestia episode for two seasons.
ReplyDeleteMaybe finale will have more of her.
@lenneal man it aired today you didnt know wow now i face palm
ReplyDeleteThe cake is a lie!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow much you wanna bet they do a Scooby Doo reference?
ReplyDelete@TheMadThinker they alraedy did three in the past like five episods didnt they?
ReplyDeletewhy did i have to miss this episode and all its beutifull refrences
ReplyDeleteThe butler did it.
ReplyDeleteFuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge. I'm late.
ReplyDeleteThis better have David Suchet as a guest voice.
ReplyDeleteYou want it? It's yours, my friend. As long as you have enough, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, bits.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for this episode.
ReplyDeletepancakes
ReplyDeleteso which one of you destroyed my cake?
ReplyDelete^It was RD!
ReplyDeleteMiles Edgeworth investigations, and Phoenix Wright comes into mind. I wanna hear Pinkie saying, "Objection!"
ReplyDelete@Derpy Hooves did doctor whooves clone us? 9_6
ReplyDeleteinafter cake is a lie portal jokes.
ReplyDeleteThere's only two things I want from Season 3 (but I know will never happen due to the studio needing a reason for making future seasons):
-A Scootaloo spotlight episode. Not a CMC, (though I don't mind them) just Scootaloo and an expansion of her character.
-A scene where Celestia and Luna are on the screen at the same time. It doesn't even have to have lines. I just want to know that they can exist at the same time besides an apology scene back in Season 1.
man i was able to catch the 5 am show of the new episode its not that im crazy into it i just dont like being left out of the loop but by the looks of it not alot of people saw this episode either but it was ok i guess not the best one ive ever seen but ok none the lessa good episode,
ReplyDeletei geusse nobody blogs on sundays damn im like the only guy talking about this show
ReplyDelete"Mystery" is spelled with three M's.
ReplyDeleteIt is now canon.
fuck I was hoping for a murder mystery
ReplyDeleteI don't care if it is a kids show, Adventure Time got away with it!
Fillmore and Western now can join the pony party! Huzzah! We just gotta let them know:
ReplyDeleteContact 'em at:
http://www.fwry.com/
Link 'em this article.
Tell 'em this is right down their alley.
And wait for their response.
@Viethra
ReplyDeleteAll aboard the Fillymore and Western! LOL!
Uh oh, I'm suspecting 4th wall destruction on an unprecedented scale.
ReplyDeleteImagine, Pinkie asking us directly to help her solve the case. She will use any means necessary to catch the perpetrator.
Also, getting a Paper Mario vibe, detective Pennington and Pinkie are on the case!
Turns out, it was Doopliss who ate the cake, disguising himself as Photofinish.
why does it air on 7 april and not next sutarday
ReplyDeleteD:
PPPARTY ON THE FRIENDSHIP EXPRESS!
ReplyDeletePPPARTY ON THE FRIENDSHIP EXPRESS!
ReplyDeletemmmmmmmh... I think it´ll be Pinkie Pie who ate the cake.
ReplyDeleteThose Ms mean something, BUT WHAT IS IT?
ReplyDeleteOh well guess i gotta wait.
3 weeks... I think I'm going to kill myself before then... GRRRAAAAHHH... I need more friendship in my life!!! 3 weeks delay after that last episode? Ugh... I can wait 3 weeks after putting your hoof down... but not 3 weeks after It's about time... Putting your hoof down was so amazing...
ReplyDeleteI bet Trixie returns in this one.
ReplyDeleteThis episode reeks of Merriweather Williams.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to this. =D
ReplyDeleteThere was an Adventure Time parody ep just like this haha. Love it though!
ReplyDelete@kitschyduck If it turns out to be Winona setting Pinkie up with a dinner-theatre style mystery, I will cry Adventure Time tribute in a second!
ReplyDelete@ Everypony wondering why this one is so far away:
ReplyDeleteWe have a Spike Episode, Hurricane Fluttershy, and a third episode (probably info is going to be put up quite soon, if not already) lined in before this one.
Celestia is the one who ate the cake!!! I'm calling it now!!!
ReplyDelete
