  • MAD TV Pony Parody Happening on Monday!

    by Sethisto

It looks like we can expect some pony parody ridiculous on this coming Monday.  They actually did one a while back with Cowboys and Aliens that was actually pretty well made, so I'm looking forward to this one.

I can't really see Twilight Sparkle taking a warhorse role... maybe Applejack or Big Mac.

And I bet 25 cents we will see a Derpy.

Check out Tara's Twitter page for the source!

Yeah, I watched a couple episodes, but it doesn't seem to know what audience its trying to get. It has parodies of movies like 2012, that kids probably haven't seen, but the parody is lame so adults wouldn't enjoy it.

That's the thing about MAD, most of it seems kiddy but it has a lot of adult themed things. I'm pretty sure EqD has a fair number of Adventure Time fans.

MAD is good as a magazine and the old live action sketch MAD is good. I really want to like the new MAD since they make so many references but for some reason it doesn't feel like it works. A good example of a show that can do that is Robot Chicken. But MAD tv is not a Robot Chicken. Tom's MAD blog is awesome though, if you are interested in traditional cartooning and old school comics.

I love Adventure Time and Regular Show too. I've also read quite a few MAD magazines and old books from the 70's. I enjoyed quite a lot of it.

The show on the other hand, airs during "kids prime time" and has sketches like "Keeping up with the Car-Crashians" a parody of Keeping up with the Kardashians. A show that airs at 8:30 PM seems geared to kids maybe ages 8-12 who don't watch reality shows and wouldn't understand the reference.

Though, since it's coming on at 8.30PM, I think the TV shall be occupied and I won't be able to catch MAD. Oh well, somepony will put it on YT anyway, which is how I watched the previous parody anyway.

Guess it's good advertising, when everyone checks out MLP and sees just how much better it is than MTV. Seriously how did MTV end up on cartoon network?

But I'll watch (if I remember) just to see Twilight Sparkle I doubt Tara Strong would voice her, but if she is, then I will watch. I'll post post-its on my computer or something.

MAD's really hit and miss for me, but Tara Strong is telling me to watch it, and apparently voicing Twilight, SO WATCH IT I SHALL.

Still, I'll never forget what they did to Applejack...(RARITY'S cutie mark?! Seriously?)

Unless of course, it's just a Twilight Sparkle lookalike in the sketch and Tara Strong is not involved but is encouraging us to watch it because she usually plays the character.

Can I just say how great Tara Strong is on Twitter? Really funny tweets and throws Twilight Sparkle references constantly.

      I think she's really gets Brony/nerd culture.

Some of the clips on MAD are funny, but most are complete shit, so I hope this is a funny clip and not a shitty one.

I watch MAD... This will be the second episode to parody My Little Ponies, and they did TWO separate pony parodies in the same episode the first time. It's very groan worthy, but occasionally, they have a gem or two. Also, Spy vs. Spy is classic awesome!

I agree, MAD magazine is good, and the TV show would be good if it were on Adult Swim instead of prime time.

I also think Tom Richmond is best MAD artist and blogger. I need to get his caricature book.

"@shiniscope Superstar @tarastrong returns to the role of Twilight Sparkle in the #MAD parody, MY LITTLE WAR HORSE! Monday/8:30pm on Cartoon Network!"

It makes no difference whether it's good or not, Tara going to be the voice for Twilight in it, that alone is worth seeing it IMO.

Too bad MAD is nothing but witless insults to popculture. I've watched two episodes and they were both completely mind numbingly awful. CN could do so much better with that time slot.

Oh my God yes. I was expecting someone to make a parody of this, a crossover of both the show and the movie (which is actually not that good, to tell you the truth). And having Tara Strong in there just makes it even better! Can't wait!!!

MAD TV is horrible, but I'll watch the new episode for the ponies. The best that can come out of this is it could expose Bronies to CN's good shows, Adventure Time and Regular Show; nothing irks me more than Bronies who insist that MLP is the only good modern cartoon.

Since Tara Strong is voicing fake Twilight...will some things happen so that mlp also premires on CN?That would be great cause I got no hub channel. And it would introduce young kids to mlp
