#1: There has certainly been some spectacular pony art this week. This is a beautiful, surprisingly-realistic sunset landscape, yet just cartoony enough that the presence of Daring Do, relaxing after her victory, doesn't seem out of place.
ReplyDelete#2: Source is derped; it should be http://fav.me/d4pue2c instead. Great, dynamic pose for Trixie, and I like the traces of magic in the dragon's maw; the subtle background, visible only in full size (or close to it), adds to the drawing as well.
#3: This artist has already done several nice steampunk ponies, including Derpy, Luna, and Celestia (featured here a few nights ago), but I think this Rainbow Dash is my favorite, because of her expression.
#5: A simple but cute drawing of Celestia in a (what else?) sun dress. The flowers are a nice touch.
#12, #13, #14: More Molestia in the Drawfriend? The first two are cute enough, but the third... I'm withholding judgment on. o.O
#17: I like the contrast of Celestia's colors against the black, and how her mane and tail are flowing across the frame.
#19: Love the abstracted style and bold colors of this group portrait; this would make a nice t-shirt.
#24: OK, the monocle got me. Cute and amusing portrait of Derpy with Mr. Muffin.
#25: Another nice portrait of the royal sisters, using their manes to good effect.
#27: The ears are a bit long, but otherwise it's an adorable mother-daughter moment.
#28: The CMC were just made for Solar Slash's style.
#34: Another epic Trixie magic-casting pic, with a great pose again, and nice magic effects.
#35: If artists keep doing these funny drawings of awkward '80s teenage Trixie, I might actually develop some sympathy for her.

2) Trixie has a recurring issue with neon, see-through monsters it would seem. Cool dragon, and neat style on Trix.

ReplyDelete#1 A fabulous way to start the evening off, no question about it! I have always loved sunsets, and this artwork brings one to life beautifully with a rich palette of colors and some very effective shading. Also, I have to say I very much like the trees and tree-covered hills... I believe I remarked on one of Tsitra's artworks before that I loved the way he rendered such things, and this image illustrates that point as well. Wonderful work!
#3 Haha. I'll confess I never paid too much attention to steampunk ponies until relatively recently, but now I can't help but notice them everywere! A very nice little fanart and I love the boots.
#4 "Growing Pains" inadvertently made me something of a fan of this ship, or at least I should say it's my favorite Wonderbolt's-related pairing. Anyway nice artwork... I actually like Soarin's character quite a lot and should draw more fanart of him.
#5 This is.... surprisingly charming actually, and for whatever bizarre reason. And now I can't stop smiling...
#6 A very cute artwork of Fluttershy! Well, like most of them are I guess but I really like the coloring and shading on this picture too, great style!
#7 I don't know what it is, but Rarity's pony dressform's have always creeped me out a little bit anyway, or at least when I imagine trying to sleep in a room full of them. How appropriately terrifying would this be!
#11 This picture is simulataneously sympathy-invoking and amusing to me. Pinkie's expression is perfect, and I love the touch of the candy wrapper on her back!
#16 Another piece where I'm not completely sure what's going on, but I really like the artstyle and despite the fact I'm not normally fond of overly-humanized ponies. The little touches of warm lighting really bring it to life.
#17 Princess Celestia's anatomy is a little bit strange in this image for me (it's that somewhat cinched waist I think) but I still really like the picture for the coloring job, mostly. Very pretty style.
#19 This reminds me of the famous 'Freefall' T-shirt design (I always did love that artwork). Great execution of the idea and I love the shading; all of the ponies really pop on the solid background. Fluttershy's ribbon-like hair is my favorite part. ^.^

#22 Trixie's expression here made me laugh out loud, I love it.
#25 The colors in this piece are nothing short of fantastic! There is so much going on here with the layering of smokey wisps, glittering shimmers and whatnot, and the overall effect is truly beautiful. Very nice!
#26 At first I thought Rarity was walking on a treadmill here, but then I realized it more resembles a runway which would make far more sense. ^.^;; Anyway yes, more fashion-pony is always welcome!

12,13,14 Its a little hard to tell Molestia and Celestia apart sometime and its even harder to know who in camand between those two ....if only there was a way to tell them a part...oh now I remember princess Celestia comands the fleet and gives the orders and molestia tryed to blow up the dawns engine block last week.
