The one true canon ship expanded into a full 45 panel comic! Get ready for some deep. I don't know how compatible dragons and ponies are, but these guys make it look good.
Endearingly lovely, unfortunately I'm not going to know the feeling but I can gestimate what it's like.
At least I know cats and dogs find me comfortable to be around for prolonged periods of time. (Many people who own computers are seventy percent likely to be cat people.)
I loves this comic! Nicely done. But Sethisto what's up with the throwing knife/machete banner on the home page ad bar? Daring-Do getting some sabres for her next adventure?
Good Comic, but in Secret Of My Excess when Spike tries to tell Rarity how he feels, the way she stops him, to me it said "i know, but dont say it because were friends" i realy felt for him and Rarity because i have been there!!
I get the feeling I must be in a tiny minority of the fandom that thinks Spike has yet to hit puberty in the series, as evidenced by this voice getting deeper at the beginning of his growth spurt of "The Secret of My Excess". Aside from that qualm, this is an excellent comic. And to answer RealityDowngrade, I don't find it "sweet and endearing that mind control is such a great way to forge true love", but rather that they were able to build true love after a rash start.
If it's a minority, I'm in it with you, but I don't see anything in this comic that requires him to have hit puberty at the beginning. That was part of what I got from the 13th panel; things like that didn't matter to them.
2.) The ending is the main reason why the Rarity/Spike relationship won't work, and why Spike's relationship with Twilight will only end in heartbreak for Spike... :(
I tried to address this as best as possible - the Heart's Desire had really only 'brought' them together, it didn't take control of anyone's mind. Spike still doesn't like it but learns that it didn't matter HOW they found each other, but that the things they had done was what made their love real.
Maybe that isn't the best explanation, but it's important to understand nothing about their love was faked or a result of mind control.
Don't sweat it, despite my dark musings that having ones mind heavily influenced by an outside ingredient is one of the great heights of evil, to me personally, there is still a part of me that finds this comic quite endearing, and even a bit romantic. I don't like that part of me, love makes one do very illogical things.
I'm almost as in love with this comic as I was with Decay. Wonderful plot, and based on the author's notes, I certainly see the Up insperation in places.
Damn that was...moving. It makes me wish that the studio had have handled their episode together better instead of the "Oh i know how u feel but we're just friends, but let me keep you extremely expensive FireRuby" Perhaps there is more to come...

ReplyDeleteVery good comic. Gotta cheer myself up now...
ReplyDeleteA beautiful, wonderful comic. Now, if you excuse me, I have some tears to eradicate.
ReplyDeleteWow that was just amazing.
ReplyDeleteThat's it, I have no soul. That was the most touching thing ever, I felt nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteRead this last night, and the tears still come.
ReplyDeleteAll of my OTP!
ReplyDeleteI read "45 page comic" instead of "45 panel comic". I can't help but feel a little bit disappointed :P It's still a nice comic, though.
ReplyDeleteNice comic.

Shame I don't have tear ducts, because that was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble holding all these feels, bro. D:
ReplyDeleteSo many feelings about this comic.
ReplyDeleteDeep. Deep and great. Yeah.
My Manly Tears, they flow like rivers. So beautiful ;_;
ReplyDeletetienes que ser fuerte/you must be strong T.T
ReplyDeleteOkay this gets a five.
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not an artist, so my 'no vote' rule doesn't apply here. But if it did...
That was amazing. Bittersweet in such a good way.
ReplyDeleteIm not a big fan of that particular ship, but the Heart's Desire really added a nice twist, great comic!
ReplyDeleteWow. Just..wow.
ReplyDeleteI...I...I need some time alone *walkawayastearscomeoutofeyes*
ReplyDeleteSo...many....manly tears!!!! *sniff*
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Heartwarming. Inspiring. yet...Bittersweet.
This comic had it all and more. Bravo, good sir. Bravo.
I....that...hold on a sec i got something in my eye.
ReplyDeleteUnlike these people, I don't get emotional. Only one thing has ever effected me to a degree that I had, but this is excellently done.
ReplyDeleteMakes me wish I could draw, too.
Why can't I hold all these feels?
ReplyDeleteI already saw this on Reddit.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to turn this into THE BEST RariSpike Fic EVER!!!!
ReplyDelete@Hivetyrant25
ReplyDeleteA sad Hive Tyrant? Something new everyday.
To be on-topic though, that was a really good read. I'm... not sure I can sleep now. (Timezones, meh.)
Don't be afraid to show your manly brony tears men... this is beautiful.
ReplyDelete@Eric Cramer You must be one of those 'Ginger Kids' that Eric Cartman talked about! GINGER KIDS HAVE NO SOULS!!! D:
ReplyDeleteNot fully onboard with the whole Spike/Rarity ship, but that was beautifully done either way. Great artwork and pacing!
ReplyDeleteI find great mirth and joy that so many people think it is sweet and endearing that mind control is such a great way to forge true love.
ReplyDeleteI loves this comic! Nicely done. But Sethisto what's up with the throwing knife/machete banner on the home page ad bar? Daring-Do getting some sabres for her next adventure?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful *sniff*
ReplyDeletedarn...
Well, if this was the Shrek universe...
ReplyDeleteThat was both beautiful and sad, wonderfully done Karzahnii!

ReplyDeleteI loved this! Gotta love light hearted stuff :) Especially when they are almost canon x)

1.) I like how grown Spike looks in the comic. :)
ReplyDelete2.) The ending is the main reason why the Rarity/Spike relationship won't work, and why Spike's relationship with Twilight will only end in heartbreak for Spike... :(
Why do people keep using ponies to get me all misty and why does it keep working?
ReplyDelete'One true canon ship'? Looks like somebody's forgetting about Twilight's Mom/Twilight's Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and 'Clyde' and 'Sue' Pie.

Beautiful, sad and it made me think, a very good comic
ReplyDeleteOh my Celestia I was so afraid it was going to have a sad sad ending like some of these long comics do; I'm so glad it didn't.

ReplyDeleteI haven't cried this much since Titanic
ReplyDelete...*THIS* is how the Rarity&Spike thing should have been handled, in the 'Yours Truly' story.
ReplyDeleteTo my opinion.
Damn that was...moving. It makes me wish that the studio had have handled their episode together better instead of the "Oh i know how u feel but we're just friends, but let me keep you extremely expensive FireRuby" Perhaps there is more to come...
