Comic time! We have a My Little Dashie one up above, Derpy being ridiculous on the bottom left, and Rainbow Dash admitting things on the bottom right. Click them all for full!
Oh no, more Little Dashie. Can't help but d'awww at her as a little filly in this. Especially in that second image. <3 Sad comic, but that's to be expected of course.
lol That Little Shop of Horrors reference. I dunno, Derpy... I think Pinkie might be onto you. But Pinkie is such a nice pony, she'll feed you anyway. :3
Ah, yeah yeah, I know many were making that comparison in the third comic. Doesn't really work for me since I never went to lengths to hide it. But I could see how some might make a connection.
PLEASE, nobody give me any grief over this. I got over a bit of a depressive episode yesterday and I don't know if I can take a look at the first comic. I'm sure it's fantastic, but I don't think I can handle it right now.
#2 Haha. Derpy, you just might have a muffin addiction if you're going to that length for muffins.
#3 This had to have been floating in everyone's heads the minute Rainbow declared herself an egghead. I mean, didn't we sit back with that look on our face when we admitted to ourselves that we like My Little Pony?
Not My Little Dashie.. every time I even say those three words I start to get emotional, every time I watch a tribute I cry and now I feel like crying again after reading that comic..
Well you all know how to force some tears if you ever need to with that first comic.
Derpy is a genius. Foolproof plan. Terrify then ask polity.
The second one. Yea I did that, only difference is I love the show, after watching all the episode in a row, so much I was glad to admit it to myself! Others... Some reluctance.
I have to do it. I'm really sorry in advance, please don't take this to mean I'm untouchable in an emotional sense. Seriously, seeing Dash crying, I haven't wanted to hug something more in recent memory.
But why does Rainbow Dash have a human father?
And for #3, wouldn't that just mean she enjoys her life?
I told my entire extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, everybody) that I was a Brony at Thanksgiving dinner. My sister brought it up to embarrass me, but I took it in stride. I carefully and eloquently explained why I liked the show and wasn't ashamed. Quite a few members of my family are ignorant meatheads, so of course they made gay jokes (I support LGBT rights), or just assumed I was kidding, but it didn't get to me because the show has made me more confident in myself.
@cpbrony You've definitely got more guts than me. My family (well my parents at least; my brother's still in the dark) only found out because of a slip of the tongue when I was asked to look up something MLP related for my sister. Bravo to you. :D
Truely of anything MLD is one of the greatest things made in this entire fandom. I thank it for making me the Dash fan I am today Forever shall it remain
@TheBlankedFile Wish I could do that, but I don't know too many people to begin with. Funny enough, I ran into an old classmate of mine during BroNYCon that had been a brony for a while. Go figure.
For the record, I will get back to that MLD comic later today. But I'm gonna need to prep with several minutes of something truly funny before I can delve into it.
Pity you because it was a good read and there are lots of references to it that you won't get. *
Envy because there are lots of references to it that you won't get, hence you don't have to cry away any last bits of masculinity that may be left in your nuts.
I loved it, even if the story was kinda unconventional, it was aiming to get tears, and it did a good job. And now people are still making fan art that makes me cry again. Screw it, who needed masculinity anyway.
*insert Mr T pity reference of your choice here and chuckle.
Have we had a Little Shop of Horrors reference yet in show? I loved that film, Rick Moranis is good.
I didn't have some epiphany that I was a brony, I just realised a few days after watching a bunch of episodes on YouTube that I'd joined the herd.
#1 Back when I first read My Little Dashie, the ending just ate my heart out! Not going to give away any spoilers for people who haven't read it yet be fare warned, the fic will be the saddest fic you will EVER read! The comic though, yeah I did tear up. Man I wish I had a plushie to cuddle with without having to pay an arm and a leg for it.
#1 Ah the comic has now brought back the sadness of the ending, and they are planning to make a movie on this?? Must hold back manly tears. #2 Hahaha worth a shot Derpy! #3 Dat realisation. We all went through it.
You got sucked in, just like I did. You watch a couple funny PMVs and then the episodes, and then the deed is done.
Get the guts to read My Little Dashie, if you can finish it, you have passed the strongest test of manliness known to man. If you finish it without crying then you're a mindless automaton.
That comic finally pushed me over the edge. I finally read My Little Dashie today, even though RD is currently ranked last among the mane six for me...
I CAN'T STOP CRYING, DAMMIT! I read it over a half hour ago, and I still can't stop the tears! I thought I could handle it, but now all I want is a little Dashie of my very own!! T_T
Well, this is the first time I was able to look at something related to My Little Dashie and not cry afterwards. Reading the story three times and listening to Azekahn read it, as well as watch multiple reaction videos probably has something to do with the lack of tears. Still, even without crying, it still hits me pretty hard every time it's mentioned. God I love that story...
#1 I chose to count down backwards because this is gonna be the longest response.
I have never EVER been moved to anything near tears by a fanfic. NEVER.
But this one, I all but cried when I finished reading it. It has such a realistic flavor to it and the experiences and heartbreak are so tangible, you would almost think that it really happened.
So I knew beforehoof that this comic was probably gonna be hard to read and boy was I right. You did this perfectly. The art and bits of her letter are perfectly spaced to allow the full impact hit home, one sentence at a time. The art is beautifully done and the little tears at the end... sorry, I'm just gonna have to shut up and wipe this moisture out of my eyes now...
@Sgt Byrd I was pretty much the same. I was looking for something to watch on YT one day and thought "I wonder what all this 'My Little Pony' ruckus is?"
So I looked up the first episode.
Then the second.
And then after the third one, I thought "Yeah, I'm hooked."
Somehow, knowing that a lot of other men liked it too made it much easier for me to accept it.
@FlintLock If you have any feelings, that story will tear them five ways, trample them into the mud, then douse them with kerosene and throw a match on top.
Tell you what, it takes a lot to make me cry. Not tear up, but fully cry. My Little Dashie made me cry harder than any time I can remember. I just read it for the first time, and it's now 11:00 pm. Reading this fanfic was a monumentally great decision on my part and brought tears yes, but also monumental happiness. I thank you for your amazing writing abilities. All bronies should read this, maybe as like a rite of passage.
But also, Hasbro better have noticed this. You see that line their Hasbro, the one that says "eight seasons"? Take that as a challenge; don't just drop the series, make it good and make it last. Don't kill it off anytime soon. Please? My happiness would never reach as high a height. HOWEVER, IF YOU TRY ENDING IT ON A CLIFFHANGER? YOU WILL PAY. Sorry, it has to be said. Now time to finish crying myself to sleep.
@ShakeNDake I know exactly how you feel, I have never read any story (including real novels) that have made me sit there and cry my heart out. This story is amazing and every Brony , no, every person should at least read this story once. I showed the story to my mom, and even though she doesn't understand the pony stuff, she loved the story and cried as well. Rob is truly an amazing writer, and this comic is so amazing as well.
#3 I feel ya Dash :) I think that's how we all felt in the beginning.
#2 Don't get the reference (apparently Little Shop of Horrors from the comments, but I've never watched it) but a good comic nonetheless.
#1 Amazing. Just... amazing. Thank you for making this comic. It motivated me to finally read My Little Dashie. Such an incredibly moving story. It was sad, but it was the good kind of sad - bittersweet, but leaving you feeling warm inside and with a desire to live life to the fullest. People who haven't read it - I highly recommend it. It's not "depressing" in the way you think. Very heartwarming actually :) Thank you, ROBCakeran, for your beautiful story. An instant favorite, and the perfect example of what the talented members of this community can create :)
i have to say, MLD was never teh one that really did me in for crying. now im not saying i didn't cry manly tears cause i did, but the one that always gets me is carnations and forget-me-nots, particularly the motion comic made for youtube. i cant help but break down every single time ive seen it, and ive seen it fairly regularly ( as well as having just watched and and not having been able to stop the tears for several minuets)

ReplyDeleteShivers... Oh god, dashie's tears make me feel so sad D:
ReplyDeleteThe first comic reminds me that we will never be separated from these ponies forever since My Little Pony will live on into our hearts FOREVER!!!! :,)
ReplyDeleteI am glad somepony made a comic about My little Dashie.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I thought I wouldn't cry going into that.
ReplyDeleteOh no, more Little Dashie. Can't help but d'awww at her as a little filly in this. Especially in that second image. <3 Sad comic, but that's to be expected of course.

The first one. Why must they keep reopening my emotional wounds!?
ReplyDeleteMy opticle globes seem to be leaking... Why is this?
ReplyDeleteRawr number one makes me so sad.
My Little Dashie always seemed like a very silly story to me, but that comic was kind of sad.
ReplyDeletePLEASE, nobody give me any grief over this. I got over a bit of a depressive episode yesterday and I don't know if I can take a look at the first comic. I'm sure it's fantastic, but I don't think I can handle it right now.

I can't be dealing with this..
ReplyDeleteNot My Little Dashie.. every time I even say those three words I start to get emotional, every time I watch a tribute I cry and now I feel like crying again after reading that comic..
Curse you Seth..
I've never read My Little Dashie, but I keep hearing that it's very sad. I read Bubbles and wept like a baby. I don't like sadness in my ponies.
ReplyDeleteFor those who care: I told someone that I was a brony for the first time today!
ReplyDeleteIn before badasses come in saying MLD didn't make them cry or something, that fanfic.... damn, so good, comic is great,
ReplyDeleteOh sweet Celestia. The first one....here come the tears again.
ReplyDeleteWell you all know how to force some tears if you ever need to with that first comic.
ReplyDeleteDerpy is a genius. Foolproof plan. Terrify then ask polity.

@cpbrony
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on coming out of the stable.
You're a stronger soul than I :(
@cpbrony
ReplyDeleteBrohoof! Don't keep it hidden! There's nothing to be ashamed of!
I'm sure a certain show about pastel equines has a lesson about that...
I have to do it. I'm really sorry in advance, please don't take this to mean I'm untouchable in an emotional sense. Seriously, seeing Dash crying, I haven't wanted to hug something more in recent memory.
ReplyDeleteBut why does Rainbow Dash have a human father?
And for #3, wouldn't that just mean she enjoys her life?
That Rainbow Dash one broke me. Thanks for linking it.

You have to own your fear or it owns you.
never read My Little Dashie. no plans to either.

ReplyDelete@wackypony
ReplyDeleteWell then you're just missing out.
@cpbrony
ReplyDeleteWell good for you!
On another note, I finally came across My Little Dashie. Just skimming made me sad :(
@TheBlankedFile
ReplyDeletethat's what they tell me when i say i haven't read Past Sins.
@wackypony
ReplyDeleteNot saying you have to. It's a great read if you get the chance, though. Even if it's sad.
@cpbrony
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Good for you!
I did mine in a (rather lengthy) blog post. I actually managed to convert a few of my friends to the show in doing so, too. It's a nice feeling.

ReplyDeleteNooooooo not My Little Dashie
ReplyDeleteI am just off my depression from reading it like 2 months ago
PS the are making a movie off My Little Dashie
*Sniffles* 's okay. I'm just gonna sit here and cry for a while. My Little Dashie has that effect.
ReplyDeleteTruely of anything MLD is one of the greatest things made in this entire fandom.
ReplyDeleteI thank it for making me the Dash fan I am today

ReplyDeleteOh please, not this creepy My Little Dashie stuff again

ReplyDeleteJust when I thought my heart had been sewn shut, I see this comic and it bleeds all over again.
ReplyDeleteI thought the pmv's to it were good but this was amazing.
@CityFlyer502
ReplyDeleteI didn't really think people would read it until one of my friends told me "OH GOD I'M A BRONY WHAT DO I DO?!" So I sent him here.
Oh sweet Celestia no, I can't deal with My Little Dashie right now. I didn't want to cry today.
ReplyDeleteFeed me Pinkie, feed me all night looong!
ReplyDeleteLove that fuckin movie.
Just when I thought I could cry no more about My Little Dashie, [chokes] I see this...! [/sobbing forever]
ReplyDelete#1 I had to skim through it to prevent myself from crying. Will read it better in a less public place. My nose still stung a bit.
ReplyDelete#2 Oh derpy. Anything for a muffin eh?
#3 My thoughts exactly after watching the episode.
@wackypony
ReplyDeleteI both envy you and pity you.
Pity you because it was a good read and there are lots of references to it that you won't get. *

ReplyDeleteBAAAAWWWAAHAAAAAAA :''''(
I know the premise behind My Little Dashy but I think I'm too unstable to read it. O Discordia!
#1 Back when I first read My Little Dashie, the ending just ate my heart out! ReplyDelete@Sgt Byrd Weird how that works. I got caught up watching funny Fluttershy-related stuff, and here we are.
ReplyDeleteAs to the comic, I don't think I have the guts to read the fanfic now.
#1 Ah the comic has now brought back the sadness of the ending, and they are planning to make a movie on this?? Must hold back manly tears.
ReplyDelete#2 Hahaha worth a shot Derpy!
#3 Dat realisation. We all went through it.

ReplyDeleteG*D D@#$ IT, FINE! I WILL READ MY LITTLE DASHIE! HAPPY NOW?!!
ReplyDelete#1: Lesson learned don't read fanfics while working no matter how compelling the comic is. It will not end well.
ReplyDelete#2: "Feed me Pinkie!"
#3: Amazes me when people react that way.
My Little Dashie... so we met again.
ReplyDeleteSON OF A B#%$* I F*@#ING CRIED
ReplyDelete@FlintLock
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure most of us understand you.
Because of the first comic i had to read My Little Dashie for myself and now manly tears are being shed
ReplyDeleteMore manly tears have been shed by me.
ReplyDelete#1 D'awwwww
ReplyDelete#2 What lol.
#3 I understand how your feeling. However most of my friends know I watch MLP FIM and I am a human not a pony lol
The My Little Dashie one... I have to clean salt spots of my glasses again. IT KEEPS HAPPENING
ReplyDeleteI went and read My Little Dashie for the first time to understand the comic... by the end I was draped across my desk in sorrow...
ReplyDeleteYEEEEEEEEEEES!
ReplyDeleteTHAT COMIC MADE IT ON HERE! My god... one of the few fan made MLD pieces to make me cry... ARE YOU HAPPY? MAKING THE AUTHOR CRY???
#1 Sad story was sad :<
ReplyDelete#2 LOL Derpy, genius!
#3 I know exactly how you feel Dash...

@ROBCakeran53 Yes, yes we are, now you feel our pain!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thank you for writing that story. Thank you so much.
ATTENTION EVERYONE!
ReplyDeleteRead the first comic while listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88p8ZjLJqfg
Makes it all the more powerful.

My Little Dashie <3
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic fanfic
#1 Manly tears. Many were shed...
ReplyDelete#2 *sniff* What? Can't you tell I'm still crying, Derpy?
#3 Oh, thank Celestia. Something light-hearted and true to everyone here.
#1 noooo! The memories and tears are flowing again ;(
ReplyDelete#2 my little shop of horrors
#3 we've all been there
I cried at the first one n I look at the next I'm like Derpy....moment.....seriously
ReplyDeleteI'll admit right now that I never really got why so many people cried over My Little Dashie, let alone got emotional over it.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, at least the other two comics are good.
#3 I sooo saw this coming from a mile away.
ReplyDelete#2 Lol. That's an oooold reference, right there!
Great, heart-melting job, man!
@Sgt Byrd
ReplyDeleteI was pretty much the same.
@FlintLock
ReplyDeleteIf you have any feelings, that story will tear them five ways, trample them into the mud, then douse them with kerosene and throw a match on top.
In short: it is beautifully written.
ReplyDeleteBut also, Hasbro better have noticed this.
Dammit, Seth! It took me over a month to get over My Little Dashie!
ReplyDelete@ShakeNDake I know exactly how you feel, I have never read any story (including real novels) that have made me sit there and cry my heart out. This story is amazing and every Brony , no, every person should at least read this story once. ReplyDeleteAnd WOAH. I haven't read the fanfic of My Little Dashy, but I was not prepared for that comic strip.
ReplyDeleteAll I will say is my Dad died in 2004... I think you can guess how I am feeling right now.
