  • Blind Bags Available on Hasbro Toy Shop (PROMO CODE Added)

    by Sethisto
    It's about time! Hasbro has finally tossed the entire blindbag set up on their website for an easy 47 bucks.  The description sort of hints that these do not come with all 24 characters, even though the store-bought sets tend to include everyone.  I am not sure if you are actually ordering a box, or just a ton of separate bags when going this route. Regardless, we finally have an online source for these that isn't based outside the USA!

    Check out the page here if you want one.

    Update:  Be sure to use the promo code (MLPTEN) for 10% off !

      "Each bag includes a mini-figure based on the MY LITTLE PONY: Friendship is Magic series like PINKIE PIE, SUGAR GRAPE, FIZZYPOP, and more! "

      I don't know about you guys, but that one episode featuring Fizzypop was AMAZING.

      You know what would be cool? Is if they had an MLP:FIM themed Monopoly set! I mean, come on, they have every other kind of Monopoly theme imaginable... Why not that too?

      As it is, I'll just have to buy the blind bag set, and replace all the playing pieces on my regular Monopoly set with ponies.

      Disclaimer on the website states: (purchase of case pack does not guarantee all 24 unique characters)

      So, it's blind luck. Also, it doesn't look like there's 24 bags in there, so you wouldn't get them all regardless.

      Still, I bet someone who took the time could get a bunch of these, get a full set, and make their money back selling the extras one at a time on eBay :P

      It does say you get 24 of them in the fine print. Most likely it will be a whole sealed box and it will include one of each and the disclaimer is just in case there's a packaging flub and somepony accidentally gets a box with two Bumblesweets.

      Either that, or that take one of those big raisin scoops (you know the ones I mean) and just grab 24 loose bags.

      They're $1.99 a pop at retail outlets, so it wouldn't make much since for a case valued at $46.99 to not have 24 figurines.

      I found an untouched box of the bling-bag ponnies at Toys R Us those boxes very much have one of each of the 24 ponies. So unless they dump out a whole ton of boxes into a barrel, mix it up, and then randomly pull 24 blind-bags from that, it's going to be one of each of the 24 ponies.

      They're also generally in order, having seen brand new opened boxes at the warehouse.

      @mattwhite924 Pony collectors. There are a lot of people, mostly adults that collected MLP toys long before FiM came around. Most of us collect multiple generations of ponies, which includes the current fourth gen. I know a lot of us are buying full boxes of these from Wal-Mart and now TRU. I already got mine from Wal-Mart, otherwise I'd probably order from Hasbro's site.

      These were also available in the January issue of Diamond Directs previews magazine. If you have a local comic book store they might still be able to order them. It might be more expensive that way, since it's price isn't listed. My friend at the store said he thinks it costs him $47 so he'd have to charge about $3 apiece to actually make money. The documentation may be wrong though. I'll tell...somebody when I get my sealed box.

      I figured these would sell out ridiculously fast. This might be part of Hasbro's plan to capitalize on the Brony phenomenon, and if that's the case, it's a good message to send them.

      4 days too late, went to toys r us for to buy a gift for a baby shower and the blind bag box was bare. Ended up purchasing the collectors 12 pack (there was only one complete set, some devious pony broke into the others and stole the Twilight Sparkles)

      Ended up walking out with ponies...and a rattle

      3 hours from the time it's posted to the time it's sold out, I can only hope they take the hint, but Hasbro has never seemed to be all that into the whole "make money by providing what people want to buy" thing.

      The very best hint hasbro can take from this is that we want SHOW ACCURATE MERCH!

      They have no idea how good of a decision they just made (and they may have just found out with them being sold out).

      I'm pretty sure it will have all 24 in it (just a little covering themselves in case of an error). I got my box of them at a Walmart. I got 20, and the 4 missing were #'s 5-8, so it definitely was a full set. Later I went to a Toys R' Us and it was the same story. No doubles (and I got the ones I was missing :P).

      Heh, add me to the list of ponies getting here too late. But yeah, sold out in three hours! That's gotta make Hasbro sit up. :D

      Little saddened by the commenter who pointed out it's only shipping to the US. Anyone up to running a relay, the next time these are stocked?

      Two Walmarts near me had them but I was too late. Toys R Us doesn't have them. This is sold out already.

      I'm thinking of just getting the Toys R Us collectable set so I at least have the Mane 6.

      At least I know which walmarts to check when and if Wave 2 comes to the US.

      Aw crap, it's not all 24? D: There goes that idea.

      Do we have a list of whether the US release has the same numbers as the previous release?

      @Present Perfect

      If it's a closed wholesale-box, the chances are pretty good to get all 24. Atleast I got all 24 when I got my wholesale-box from another vendor. They were even sorted inside the box.

      For those who've stated they're saving up, have some copy/paste from my email order confirmation:

      Item Subtotal: $46.99
      Gift Wrap: $0.00
      Shipping: $7.97
      Tax: $4.90
      Discount: $4.70 (MLPTEN)
      Gift Card: $0.00
      Order Total: $55.16

      It sure would've been nice if the sales tax was applied to the post-discount item subtotal, but whatever.

      @flarepie24
      They're $1.99/unit so you actually save $0.77 buying the case. Of course - since this is an online purchase - the $7.97 shipping fee kind of kills that.

      @maxmontezuma
      Yep. People are reading too much into the disclaimer. Assorted cases in all the retail and grocery jobs I've had contain a set number of each item. And, since they're packaged by machine, glitches are extremely uncommon (I've yet to experience one).
