ReplyDeleteConsider, if you will, how many bronies are fine with grimdark but can't stand even the slightest sexualization of ponies. Twilight having that stance makes perfect sense.
Never can have too much Twilight. First two definitely got me chuckling. Third one was a little confusing for me since I've never heard of that series. Still, it was pretty cool.

That second comic... LMFAO! This is shear perfection. Dat Rule 34-H, I tell ya. Earth Daily has been going downhill lately I guess. But yeah, Twilight's expression and response is pretty spot on with some I think. ;) As for what was posted in the fifth panel on Earth Daily... I'd hit it. Like the fist of an angry god.
Shoot, not watched the show the third one is referencing. But I know I've seen that speech, or maybe even another parody of it, somewhere before.
Third comic, "Celestial Breakthrough", is yet another reference to "Tengen Toppa: Gurren Lagann", which I've never seen; however, the speech does seem to fit Twilight pretty well (even if the language is slightly rougher than what would be used on the show...).
ReplyDeleteSecond comic, "My Little Human", is wonderfully funny. Thankfully we haven't had anything that saucy as a header image yet.

#3... That's my 7th favorite anime! (1 through 6 are Clannad, Fullmetal Alchemist (both series), Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Mushi-Shi, and Death Note).

I find it also funny how some people are okay with the darkest grim in which ponies gets killed brutaly and blood and organs are flying around, but once you see some *plot* there are huge shout-outs of no. XD
Myself i think if people wants to draw 34, let them. As long as they put questionable over it, its fine. It´s not like anyone forces us to look at those pics. ;)
But Seth, i hope you realizes that Drawfriend 424 now will need a Twi in white censored underwear with a surprised expression on her face and some thought bubble (im sure this weird outfit was meant as a reference to something...) as first pic. XD

ReplyDeleteYou can't question Twilight's awesomeness. For Celestia's sake, the unicorn rides shiny Rayquazas/Rayquayzi! How much more hardcore could you get?
ReplyDeleteStop with the fucking "our [blank] is the [blank] that will pierce the heavens". We get it, you all love the series, but it's always that one scene that you all reference. If you all really love it so much, make more original references to it. For example, I really love One Piece, but when I reference it, I mix it up. I don't always just do the Robin "I wanna live" scene. Sometimes I reference the death of Merry, or the scene with Zoro and Kuma, or I do one of Brook's skull jokes, or many of the other awesome ways I can reference the show that I like, if I so desire. My point is, there's gotta be more than one cool scene in TTGL, and by just repeating that one reference over and over again, you're not doing it justice.

ReplyDelete2. Now, see, I can't help but disagree with this comic's portrayal of Twilight. Frankly I think she'd be one of those who actually would like Rule 34. Oh, she wouldn't admit it to anypony, but she'd still like it. She'd also probably write the equivalent of clopfics all the time...under pseudonyms, of course.
3. Now I finally know where "drill that will pierce the heavens" comes from!

I agree that people should be able to express themselves, even if it's through Rule34. I don't have to like it, but it's their right. I still believe that we should be careful of what goes up on EqD. Not that EqD posts Rule34, but that's what the artist used in the comic.
