another "The Thing" crossover... why????
ReplyDeleteUh, don't we have "First Nights in Winter" for this crossover?
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
isnt this the #2 the thing on 1 week?
ReplyDeleteyay more thing
ReplyDeleteMy knowledge of The Thing = Smosh's Ditto parody.
ReplyDeleteI haft to go with daziy on this
ReplyDeleteTHE HORROR
note: i have not read it yet.
We just got a Thing crossover, but this one stands on its own, a well-written piece with excellent characters and a quick jump into the claustrophobic arctic laboratory setting. Don't worry about reading two things based off the same source when they're both good works! :D
ReplyDeleteThe horror, the horror! lol Wow, a The Thing crossover. Awesome old horror movie.
ReplyDeleteOkay, how many "The Thing" crossovers do we need? This is like the fourth one now!
ReplyDeleteMan, I like John Carpenter's "The Thing," but this is getting ridiculous.
@Dusty the Royal Janitor
ReplyDeleteApparently, I'm late to the bandwagon!
Hah, what are the odds. Finally finish mine and another one pops up. Go figure. No problem with that, of course; contrary to what others are saying, there's no such thing as too much, uh, Thing. Cheers to a fellow Outpost 31 aficionado.
ReplyDeleteI will say that I'll hold off on reading this until *after* I completely finish my story. Don't want any outside influences that ends up causing mine to be some sort of... imitation ;)
another one? Uhm...i think ill just stick to "First Week of Winter"
ReplyDelete@MegaPatron
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving it a chance!
Well, this is the second "The Thing" crossover out, and the other one DOES have an original "The Thing Pony" image...
ReplyDeletebut I'll give this one a shot too!
That pic completely shatters the "dark" mood for this :P
ReplyDelete"Antlertica" Brilliant! At first glance I really hoped this was a Cthulhu crossover, so now I disappointed myself. It sounded like The At Mountains of Madness a bit. I would definitely give that a chance and I read almost zero fanfiction.
ReplyDelete@A.J. Scriber
ReplyDeleteAlright alright ill give it a shot x_x
I haven't even read the other ones yet!
ReplyDeleteI had been planning to write one about this, but not anymore. Now all we need is a crossover of The Blob...
ReplyDeleteJust finished reading it, and it is really different from RelaxingDragon's
ReplyDeleteHis is a conglomeration of the entire "Apocalypse" trilogy, whereas this is just a straight up "The Thing" adaptation.
I think they are both good, and I'll keep reading them both.
This one is so far a much better script for a remake of The Thing than Eric Heisserer's was.
Nooo! The mane 6 being thinged! Do not want to read my little ponies being killed by an alien creature. Whats next? My little zenomoph?

ReplyDelete-What ? No 'Random' tag ?
So many Thing crossovers! And I had one planned for the 1982 John CArpenter version! ;_;
ReplyDelete@Mr. Fancy Trousers
ReplyDeleteUm, dude?
Its already been done and its called The Creature That Came to Ponyville.
I hope it's simpler to the 70s version that one was scary
ReplyDelete*1982 version, my bad
ReplyDelete@Travis Smith
ReplyDeleteI'd rather it be an adaption of the OLD original one, which had the creature be a plant-like monster. One that didn't burst out from the inside of Ponies. :C The John Carpenter "Thing" was actually a fusion of the original's setting and origin of the monster with "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" plot device of the aliens mimicry of human form and memories.
@Alondro
ReplyDeleteYou mean The Thing from from outer space right?
This led me to wonder what a pony Event Horizon would look like. I wouldn't be able to read it, of course, but it would be interesting to know it was done.
ReplyDelete@ADSF
ReplyDeleteWhere we're going...we won't need hooves.
What the... bronies complaining about a second crossover with the same thing.... Y U no complain about the I-lost-count-how-manyeth Faillout crossover???
ReplyDeleteReally now. Does it matter there's more then one brony who tries their hoof at writing a crossover with the same movie? Or is this some kind of Highlander standard? THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
What is this "The Thing" everypony is talking about? This sounds to me a lot like the novel from back in the 30s called "Who goes there?". It immediately made me think of it when I read the description. Are the two related?
ReplyDelete(Yeah, 1930s SciFi is a thing for me. Don't judge.)
@Macon Mixx Long live Golden Age SF!
ReplyDelete@Macon Mixx
ReplyDeleteIf you are serious about that being the first thing you thought of, then I love you. Just so you know.
Anyway, the reference is to this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084787/
Find it, watch it, embrace it, love it 8)
That face ruins that it is a horror. :3
