Another foreign magazine has popped up, and this time around we have a full translation thanks to Simen! Apparently they don't have words for Pegasus, and a few other things, so some conversions are a little strange, but overall its perfectly readable.
Sadly the majority of it is the simple copy paste vectors. They need to get on over to the MLP Vector Club and mix things up or something!
Check the entire thing out after the break.

That Applejack picture scares me >.<
ReplyDeleteWhats up with the Pinkie on the front cover D:
ReplyDelete@Iasius >.<
ReplyDeleteMas more masssie ponnie! I can only hope it means good things.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else ever had problems with those find the difference things because you couldn't tell if one difference was supposed to be part of another? I've always had that problem... too damn general! Also, Dash at the bottom of the 5th image looks a bit odd.
ReplyDeletelol pinkies mane, and what do u mean they dont gots a word for pegasus? their fairytales must be awfully bland
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh theyr naked!
ReplyDelete@karrotline
ReplyDeleteD= NO WAY. :3
anywho, this entire magazine left me going... what?
*ahem excuse my norwegin* masse moro med ponniene!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I notice some vectors I've never seen before. How come there aren't any pony magazines over here in the states?
ReplyDeleteLast panel of the first one:
ReplyDeleteApplejack and Twilight don't look happy...
@rulsis
ReplyDelete...we are onto them?
Yeah.......they need better vectors.......these are really poorly drawn......
ReplyDeletePinkie has to bake her own birthday cake and set up her own party?
ReplyDeleteAlso lol Applejack. "I knew you'd eff up the cake somehow Pinkie so I brought a apple pie."
Dashie on the fifth page frightens me.
ReplyDeleteApplejack looks a little off too.
What in Luna's name is that Applejack Pic? Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAJ is yet again hatless.
ReplyDeleteApplejack, posing like a model, covered in mud, hair done up Manehattan style.
ReplyDeleteWat.
I find it kind of funny how the Community can draw better ponies than the people who are actually paid to do it...
ReplyDeletemaybe she misses manehatten?
ReplyDelete@DulTek LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL what's with the Rainbow Dash on the 6th page? Very awkward.
ReplyDeleteOMG SPIKE not giving a single damn in all the pages he appears
ReplyDeleteThat picture of AJ in the mud is interesting, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteAnd Rainbow Dash always dresses in style
So close.... I live in Sweden
ReplyDeleteOh my- and 50kr?
ReplyDeleteIt's weird though that they didn't use the word pegasus, as pegasus is pegasus in norwegian-
What did they use instead? Vingeponni?
I actually think the way Dash's hair and mane merge into her rainbow contrail looks pretty cool. It ALMOST makes up for the creepiness of that Applejack picture. >_>
ReplyDeletethey even used that cold dead eyes spike
ReplyDelete*shivers*
These stories... Kinda reek. O__o I mean, I know they're meant to be simple and whatnot, but damn.
ReplyDelete'The ponies are having a normal day, doing the stuff that the do, when oh no, something that could maybe be construed as a little bit bad happens! But that's okay, because there's a two-second fix to it. The end!'
That's the first story.
'Rainbow Dash is getting ready for a race, she needed clothes for it apparently although she's run tons of races without clothes and would really just be slowed down by the extra drag. Rarity made clothes for Rainbow Dash. Conflict? What's that? The end!'
There's the second.
Yuck.
That's actually pretty cool, but conspicuously absent...
ReplyDeleteThe Majestic Møøse.
That Applejack on the first page... What? What is with that hairstyle? She looks like she just came back from Manehatten and decided to take a mud-bath to acclimate back to Ponyville or something. I just... don't know. -_-
ReplyDelete@DulTek That's because as a community we dedicate so much time to our beloved ponies. I wouldn't be surprised if collectively we dedicate hundreds of hours a day.
ReplyDeleteWell, we're definitely moving on. But there might need to be some fine tuning done before our world domination is truly complete.
ReplyDelete@brilliantspecter
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it, I'm thinking this sort of plotless (by which I mean STORY, minds out of the gutter bronies! :p) saccharine is exactly the sort of "conflict" that appeared in the original MLP show.
In all fairness I've never seen the original MLP, so I could be mistaken, but nonetheless, the ease with which these silly little stories could have been exactly what FiM turned out to be makes me thank my lucky stars for Lauren Faust. :D
.__.
ReplyDeleteWell, it was only a matter of time before we got ourselves a magazine as well... Of course it had to be Nightmare Fuel.
*sigh* And yeah, pegasus is pegasus in Norwegian. At least, that's what we usually use.

ReplyDeleteApplejack is such a very dirty, dirty pony... lmao. Sorry. I had to say it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and look. Dash is dressing in style. :D
The first few pages with the story on them were killing me via laughter. It was just a series of words that gave me some odd and funny mental images. Perhaps a little scary to some. lol
just read that last story, cudnt help but laugh at the "slutt" at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteand spike is so dang tiny! ^^
Already it looks better than the UK magazine... they who call Winona "Jackaroo". Le sigh.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNow the question is; are these stories canon? Though they are crap, they are made by Hasbro after all, so shouldn't they be as canon as the show?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I bought that magazine last week xD
ReplyDelete@NorwegianView
ReplyDeleteFuck that, that shit is fucked up
@karrotline
ReplyDeleteYeah, "slutt" is the Norwegian word for "End" or "The end". But it's even dodgier in Sweden, over there it's literally spelt "slut"! =D
@ponyvangelist
ReplyDeleteIt's spelt "moose", or "elg", as we say here in the frozen north. And there's never two Ø's in a row.
Well norvegian. good enofh.
ReplyDeleteÅ herre gud!
@Rainbow Smashly
ReplyDelete*"Masse moro med ponniene!" = "Lots of fun with the ponies!" = "Shit"
Just looked it up, and "Slutt" is, indeed, Norwegian for "End".
ReplyDeleteI agree that one of the definite factors in this shows popularity is the presence of interesting story lines, not the brain-sloshingly dull synopses common of the previous generations.
And also, Rarity is a known for being good "knitter"?
Well norvegian. good enofh.
ReplyDeleteÅ herre gud!
What is with rainbow Dash in the bottom of the 'Race in the air' story? She did too many Sonic Rainbooms.
ReplyDeleteAnd Applejack in the mud in that find the difference picture is like, 'Too bad Rarity, I'm gonna play in the mud!'
@a47a3bba-2051-11e1-af6b-000f20980440
ReplyDeleteMuch agreed! This entire community wouldn't exist if these shorts were what the show was actually like. I'm not even sure young girls would enjoy it. O__o
Although, from what I hear, the pointless drivel comes mostly from Gen 3 and 3.5 (3.5 also had abominable animation, what with the baby ponies and such.) 1 and 2 apparently weren't too bad, though not anywhere near FiM.
Of course, I haven't watched anything but gen4 myself. I've just heard a lot about previous generations, thanks to lots of reading and video-watching in honor of my new fandom.
@Jone Andre
ReplyDeleteIt's a reference to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". though the supposed laguage used there was Swedish, IIRC.
I'll admit that these are pretty terrible, but something about them just makes me lol while facepalming. Then again, while G3/3.5 is bottom of the barrel for the series, I've found myself laughing at some of that too for just how terrible it is.
ReplyDeleteOn that note: G3.5 baby Scootaloo must've been dropped on her head or something. In one of the shorts that features her that I saw, even the slightly older babies (Cherilee and Pinkie Pie) are just giving looks that say "WTF" and giving exchanging looks over just how...enthusiastic Scootaloo is to behave like a complete dope.
tl;dr while G3 and 3.5 are admittedly crappy, I have been know to laugh at some of the shorts I've seen because they're so incredibly bad. For the same reason, I find myself laughing at this steaming pile of shallow junk.
Oh yeah. I should mention that two of the things that make me crack up are AJ's vector and TS's vector on the last page of the birthday arc. Applejack looks bored out of her skull, and Twilight has a wtf look on her face. XD
ReplyDeleteI have this! Was a real disappointment really...
ReplyDeleteahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, its horrible!
ReplyDelete(1d100/1d100 sanity lost)
Fargelegg!
ReplyDeleteI want a Sports Horse now
ReplyDeleteLink to the original? I can read Norwegian.
ReplyDeleteRarity taking a bath with Pinkie Pie on the cover?
ReplyDeleteApplejack covered in mud?
Wow, that thing is full of sexual innuendo.
Also, wasn't it this one that comes with a Rarity poster? (I saw it posted on Ponychan a few weeks ago)
Gotta get one of these. (if I can find a store that sells them)
Too bad the vectors are really awful though...
I have this, it was laughably bad.
ReplyDelete@Forb.Jok
ReplyDeleteYeah, Rarity was on a poster in the centerfold.
I bought a similar pony magazine here in Norway a few months ago. It included some pretty cool stickers, but the drawings of the ponies were quite shit, just like in the magazine above.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I guess the Norwegian word for Pegasus is Pegasus? Or perhaps "bevinget hest", horse with wings? Earth pony is a bit tricky, though. "Jordponni"? "Ponni med beina på bakken"? That just sounds weird.
I hope I'll see more of these magazines soon, even if the artwork is copy-paste and blegh.
No one has yet questioned a salty, odd tasting cake, made by Pinkie Pie!
ReplyDelete/)O_o(\
Where's Rainbow Dash??? WHERE'S RAINBOW!!!
Whew... She's dressing in style in the next story along side Fluttershy and Rarity. Thank Celestia!
Now of only those friends would just get back together... So sad to see them shunning each other in groups of three, while absolutely no f**ks are given that day by Spike, as he stare's expressionlessly off into space... maybe his brain had an aneurism... that exploded, and then exploded again... Can you do that, have an aneurism that explodes twice?
My Little Gothenburg Ponies. Okay I can dream.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked three of the, what, ten or so G3 shorts. Tales is not the official second generation but was a decent time waster. The original cartoon actually had villain fights. They actually too many villain fights because it was a "villain of the week" style of show. Come to think of it, it has a lot in common with Scooby Doo. The villains were mostly terrible and the story situations inane. The specials were far darker.
ReplyDelete@brilliantspecter
ReplyDeleteSeriously guys, everybrony should at least give the most notable story arcs from G1 a chance. Dig them up on youtube. It's free and it's a chance to see what Lauren Faust remembered from her childhood... what she used as the foundation to build FiM upon.
Yes, the songs and animation from the 1980s can be pretty pathetic. Cringeworthy even! Still, I have seen 5 story arcs/movie from G1, and let me say, they are WORTH watching. I mean, some of this G1 stuff is actually pretty dark. I grew up with that ancient looking 80s animation style, so I'm tolerant of the lack of technical sophistication in old MLP animation.
Just go and watch the My Little Pony: The Movie, Rescue from Midnight Castle, Escape from Catrina, The End Of Flutter Valley, and Return Of Tambelon. Trust me. Even if it's all you ever watch of the old stuff, give those few a chance. I did, and I liked them. Yes, the production is more basic than our beloved FiM, but it's not bad. There is a lot of that same kind of general make up as the season openers of FiM have, what inspired FiM. Big epic adventuring, with a few truly dastardly villains who know how to mess a pastel pony up.
***SPOILERS*** (Rescue from Midnight Castle)

Geez, the villain from Midnight Castle is a heartless creature of pure evil that made me /)O_O(\ at some of his actions! He goes on raids, ponynapping terrified ponies by plucking them from the ground with flying dragons, He turns three of the ponies into demonic looking tusked monsters that look like a cross between a dragon and a warthog, just to pull his chariot. He needs a fourth, and threatens to decapitate Spike over acquiring the fourth pony, which ends up being Applejack, who he also turns. All this, so he can ride his chariot into the sky and bring about a never ending night using the Rainbow of Darkness.

Far darker stuff than what the Hub airs these days.
Even the lighter stuff is still decent. Just give it a try. If you only watch one, start with Rescue from Midnight Castle, and try to watch My Little Pony: The Movie also.
Just cringe and bear the songs and cheesy 80s animation, and try to enjoy them. I can definitely see some of FiM's roots in these classic MLP shows.
I had enough faith in the classic stuff to suck it up and buy the $40 MLP season 1 Box Set (yes... I know, G1 has a box set, while they argue over the worth of putting out a G4 box set... Freaking nostalgia power). Show your support. Show that box sets of MLP sell! If those sales go up, it may also help to justify a G4 box set.
One more note regarding the DVD Box Set for MLP Season 1... I believe there are some missing episodes, part of one of the story arcs. It's been complained about, but with youtube and a DVD burner, that can be easily remedied, so I don't mind that fault too much! I mean... this is coming from a guy that has a complete season 1 FiM box set thanks to a good printer and a lightscribe DVD burner! LOL!
Ooh! That just gave me an idea for making a PMV with Tirak and the song "Rainbow in the Dark".
ReplyDeleteYeah but now you can't even find the box set of G1 anymore except on EBay.
ReplyDeleteI bought the G1 box set online from Toys R Us. I've seen it as recently as last week.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2435253
ReplyDeleteIn stock for shipping, as of 10 seconds ago.
@Bombedrumbum
ReplyDeleteyeah, it looked... off, somehow :P
Whoa. No way. I've got an old copy lying around somewhere.
ReplyDelete@karrotline
ReplyDeleteNah. We don't need pegasi to make our fairy tales awesome. We've got trolls and giants and elves and forest spirits and other assorted thingamajigs. xD
Besides, we use "pegasus" and "pegasuser" (singular and plural form, respectively) for pegasi anyway.
pfffft. i saw same issue in poland last month.
ReplyDeleteSo lame.
Eyup.. Saw it in the store.. But.. No one must know ;_;
ReplyDeleteHA! I've got this magazine!
ReplyDelete@Vivix
ReplyDeleteYeah, same thing in Swedish... or any language, really, for all I know everyone uses the latin word. It could be a result of dumming it down, that they didn't think their audience would understand? Rubbish, that's when "asking a grown up and learning something" happens
There are no winged horses in Norwegian folklore, but Pegasus from the Greek myth is widely known. I don't see why they needed to call it winged horse. However, the Norse mythology has two horses pulling the sun and the moon, respectively, across the sky! And of course Sleipnir, a relative of Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteActually, we Norwegians DO have a word for Pegasus. It's PEGASUS here too!
ReplyDeleteTwilight Sparkle of the Gods: Twilight versus Jormundgandr.
ReplyDelete>.>
Now that you mention it, I'm thinking this sort of plotless (by which I mean STORY, minds out of the gutter bronies! :p) saccharine is exactly the sort of "conflict" that appeared in the original MLP show.
ReplyDeleteUh, the stories in the original MLP cartoon were more like "shit, someone is trying to enslave us" or "oh crap, we are all being turned into lifeless glass statues."
Rescue at Midnight Castle had the most badass villain ever.
There was also a G1 comic book in the UK which . . . actually had people drawing the pictures instead of using clip art. What a concept, eh? They had various plotlines, some were about inter-pony conflicts while others were about villains trying to take over their valley.
Why does it say "Slutt" at the end of it because that looks like a misspelling of a word that does not belong in a children's thing...
ReplyDeleteRarity is the best at... knitting?
ReplyDeleteNoen som vet hvor man får kjøpt det? :P
ReplyDeletexD I just find it so hilarious how Rarity's eyes got the Pinkie Pie treatment in the upper left corner on the 8th picture.
ReplyDelete@Kirie Jeg kjøpte det på Coop Mega :P
ReplyDelete@Frenchi Yeah.. that's an example of how the Translators messed up, but that's what it says in the Norwegian version.
RainbowDash won a race because Rarity gave her clothing that made her faster.
ReplyDeleteSlutt
SLUTT
ReplyDelete@2007excalibur2007
ReplyDeleteRepeat, Hatless!
Lol.
ReplyDeleteHavin the signature "Slutt" on a child's magazine.
That is fucked up. :P
@karrotline
ReplyDeleteOh good, I'm not the only one who noticed the "slutt."
I am glad I am not the only one who buys this kind of stuff. BTW. I saw that same picture of Applejack in a similar kind of thing that I bought once.
ReplyDelete@Jone Andre It's actually a reference to an old Monty Python gag (from the opening credits of Monty Python and the Holy Grail), aimed at Swedes actually (Sweden, Norway, it's all the same, right? :-P), and which I am sure both Swedes and Norwegians are sick of by now.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can find it in your heart to førgive me. ;-)
If Hasbro were smart, they'd hire the fans to make these magazines. The stories and art would be 20x better and it would cost the company less to hire 'em.
ReplyDelete
