In my headcanon, Pinkie randomly drugs, kidnaps, and shackles Dash in her basement at least once a week, but it's for stuff Dash won't do on her own, like mane-cuts, flossing, wing preening, taking her vitamins, washing behind her ears...

ReplyDeleteAs a self insert no, but I do intend to send in my fic, what I'm doing is just acting like Im part of the thing, in a way its like trolling but I'm just making random stuff , trying to make a name for myself in here.
It's always been a dream to at least be mentiond in something on the Internet. Basiclly I just make it seem my fiction is a hidden part of the show. I take example that I'm a former guard, I work for Prince Catasrophe who is ruler of the Steel Empire that exists beyond Equestria's border. This stems from my imagination mostly

ReplyDeleteActually, Cupcakes beat "Party of One" by 13 to 16 weeks. And before you ask, no it didn't influence the episode, which had long ago been written and the voice tracks recorded.

@Apple Bloom I thought you'd like the reference if you remember what you did at the end of the story. Can't decide what I really thought of the story. They were really out of character at times. The gore you eventually shrug off if you've happened to venture into the wrong side of the "dead internet". I hadn't shuddered so much since that day...

ReplyDeleteI'm simply bewildered at how much of the fandom takes (pure) Grimdark pony ANYTHING seriously. It's why Cupcakes is the only Pure Grimdark fic I actually respect, it's just gore porn for the sake of itself and not trying to be taken more seriously than the shock-gore trollfic it is.
The WORST thing about Cupcakes is anyone who reads it and considers i6t's canon possibilities. Missing the point much?
ProTip: All pure grimdark fics are either trollfics, tongue-in-cheek black humor, or taking themselves way too seriously.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the fic itself, but the "Psycho Pinkie" concept (as seen in fanart and PMVs) is one of the things which got me interested in the series in the first place. So I can't say I'm sorry it was written.
Nice to hear it, I'll get cracking on reading and start on Spelling/Grammatical errors if any are noticeable.

ReplyDeleteNot canon exactly (I mean Dash is alive in the show obviously), but a plausible what-if based on the canon characters.
Like: "Yeah, Pinkie could totally go insane and be baking random ponies into cupcakes in secret."
This was even more prevalent after Party of One made it canon that pinkie's emotional and psychological makeup is somewhat fragile.
It just boggles my mind how fans seem to have some innate need to validate fanon and headcanon despite those things being by definition invalid to canon.
I have literally seen posts that are borderline dissertations about how this could actually happen.
I've seen the same damn thing exhibited by readers of a certain other, much much more disturbing grimdark rapefic where Rarity has a mental break.

ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder if I'm the only person who found Cupcakes humorous. It obviously wasn't meant to be taken seriously, so why do people freak out about it so much? Personally, I like the Psycho!Pinkie fanon, but I love good old canon Pinkie too...

ReplyDeleteTo be precise, I don't freak out over Cupcakes, I freak out over people who take Cupcakes seriously, as DPV111 described. If there weren't so many people treating straight-maned "Pinkamina" as a repressed or potential psychotic dark side of Pinkie Pie, I wouldn't give a flying fickle finger of fate about Cupcakes.

I seriously have a Cupcakes subversion where Pinkie just ran out of sugar and is over zealous in making Dash tell her where she hid the candy. Culmination in Pinkie tickling Dash with her own feathers and Dash giving up her stash of candy canes.
But yes. The number of people who think Cupcakes is fallout from Party of One is staggering. The number of idiots chanting "Party made Cupcakes canon" is too. It's like they have absolutely zero concept of character. PartyOfOne!Pinkie turned inward and became dismissive of her former friends and wanted nothing to do with them.
The only reference that kills a mood FASTER than a Cupcakes ref is the phrase "20% cooler in 10 seconds flat".
Thanks for the lack of Cupcakes warning. I really appreciated that.

ReplyDeleteNot necessarily. The fact that everyone associates Pinkie with straight hair as being automatically psychotic could have just meant that she'd, ya know, have straight hair, and nothing else.
I consider Seth's comment as insufficient for a warning.
I almost cried again when I saw that cupcakes reference. That horrible image of RD is still in my head...

ReplyDeleteHeh fun scenario. There was already one that I can't remember the name of where Pinkie had Dash tied up for Applejack who knocked Dash out for stealing apples and Pinkie was taking "samples" from Dash but it was to make cupcakes FOR her...
But yeah I would be most amused if it was like a semi-regular routine for them. Pinkie's randomness and Dash's to the max.
Might I add that it was totally worth it. Just throwing that out there.

ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone show Pinkie Pie as a psycho? The favorite character of my friend who showed me mlp fim, was Pinkie Pie. He had seen in mlp fim a whole world, he tolerated gore and other things, but this flash was enough. This flash was the waterdrop that the barrel overflowed. I dont think, that it was in Lauren Faust's mind, letting Pinkie Pie act like a psycho. I dont care, if this post will be removed by admins. With bronies like them, who needs enemies. Sorry for my English.
