I'm sorry, but, Lyra has NEVER been Hasbro's character. She's OURS. WE are the ones that developed her character. I don't see why we should get all worked up over what Hasbro does. If anything, whatever THEY do with Lyra should be considered fanfiction for US. And this goes for ALL the BG ponies we built up over the year.

I thought it was hilarious when one of the layout artists confirmed her internal Studio B name as "Incidental Unicorn #2".

ReplyDeleteToys aren't canon. Neither is fanon. Therefore, no name is more justified than any other; use whatever you want.
PS: Lyra second best background pony.
Still, I wish there would be a page for Lyra on the wiki and a page for Heartstrings. Using the same wiki-page for both is confusing since Heartstrings and Lyra, according to Hasbro's card, look nothing alike except for their cutie marks.

#1 As far as I'm concerned, she's Lyra unless otherwise noted in the show itself and we can confirm it's actually meant to be her. And someone actually changed the Wiki to "Heartstrings"? Yeah... we all have different views on it and which is the proper name. It shouldn't be noted on the Wiki as Heartstrings unless we all agree to that being her name now. And we all don't. Therefore, it should revert back to Lyra unless it's confirmed without a doubt the pony persona and character Lyra = Heartstrings. To quote Forest: "And that's all I have to say about that."
