The Governator is taking a break from his normal job of traveling time and killing potentially dangerous middle aged women, to show off his musical side. Today we have two ponies with less than 30 seconds of screen time between the both of them, but enough fanon to make even Trixie starstruck.
I think his attraction circuits may have been ponified or something, he reaaaaly likes Scratch.

And that's why they are so damn adorable!!
Yeah, two of the three super-awesome music ponies! They are pretty much the definition of "one-scene wonder". Vinyl had about 4 seconds of screen time, and Octavia had maybe 20 seconds, and yet we have names, personalities, and almost everything else that makes a good, "fleshed-out" character. Also, they seem to be like Lyra and Bon-Bon in that they're almost always shipped together, which is great, because it just fits, you know? Opposites attract, and all that (which may explain why I like the "Rarijack" pairing so much too.)

Luna, Octavia, Pon3, Dash, then from there its a constantly shifting order list.
We played that background for Octavia's in orchestra last year. Good times, good song.

Try a simple recolor of the existing musician pony model to save time and expense. Hence why the entire band is so much alike the one in the Gala episode too. ;) I know, it's not as whimsical or fun to theorize on. lol

The Viva la Vida in the background of Octavia vid really disturbs me. It's not like I didn't like the song, I just know it too well (since I sang it in a choir, it was pretty epic) and can't concentrate in what he's saying. Curses!

ReplyDeleteIt got mentioned already but yeah, Thunder and Lightning is easily one of the best shipping stories in the archive, and forever cemented Vinyl Dash (Rainbow scratch? DJ RD? wateva...) as a go-to pairing.
I love this guy's videos. So very simple yet so very entertaining.
