More like animation gag. :P As for Derpy having her own episode. Really, I think she would be best sticking around as a random backgrounder. That's part of her attraction.
Other than the occasional perhaps slightly off information, these spotlights are fun.
After that last episode, it's pretty easy to say that Rarity is pretty close to best pony.
