ReplyDeleteNightmare Moon possessed a sparkly mane when she returned from the moon, but when she was forced back to her other personality, Luna possessed no ethereality in her mane.
I think there is some symbolism to the fact that after a year, Luna has regained the sparkle in her mane a la Nightmare Moon while retaining her Luna-appearance, meaning that she has reconciled the two parts of her personality, the more assertive side and the more timid side.
